The deck has 180 degree views of the Potomac river and has a table, BBQ, hammock stand and seats all shaded by a 150-year old oak. The hot tub has waterviews and a patio for relaxing or hanging out. Downstairs has a master bedroom with a plush king bed, pack-and-play, large bathroom & shower. Upstairs has the original Victorian feel with two bedrooms and baths including a clawfoot tub! The front bedroom includes a bistro table to enjoy breath-taking sunrise views. Guests have access to the home, activities storage shed and deck. There are 2 locked linens closets, a locked owners cabinet and garage that are not included in the listing. We offer a contactless check-in process. The charming Victorian beach town of Colonial Beach has much to offer - sun & sand, antiques, breweries, wineries, restaurants, water sports, salt-water fishing, and Tiki bars. Friendly, small-town vibes. Quick 1-2 hour drive from Richmond, Newport News or Northern Virginia and DC. If you are looking for a laid-back beach vacation within driving distance, you've found it! Colonial Beach is very walkable, you can also drive your car or rent a golf cart to get around town. There is also a seasonal trolley (Memorial Day - Labor Day) that stops at various places in town. Do note that our home is over 100 years old! A lot of that original charm is gorgeous crown molding, but also beware of the low ceiling height coming down the stairs, some uneven original wood floors upstairs and every so often a new cosmetic crack appears from the home settling. Being on the river means enjoying nature - bald eagles, osprey, herons and dolphins (if you are lucky!) but also bugs, flies, & mosquitos are common. Try to keep exterior storm doors closed and food in sealed containers to keep nature out of the home. We also try to be as green as possible with our laundry. Towels are provided for each person. Let us know in advance if your guest numbers change or you would like additional ones for your stay. We'll do our best to make sure as many amenities are available as possible, but due to shortages and shipping delays there may be some difficulty replacing items if and when they break. In particular, hot tub parts can be difficult to obtain should we need them. Security cameras are located at the front and back of the home and monitor only exterior areas of the home. Recording is motion-activated. We take guest privacy very seriously and only review footage if and when an issue arises.
