Description

Enjoy old school hospitality and cooking during your stay. We are situated in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg. You have an under cover parking, private entrance and a large attic entirely at your disposal. There is a large living area with a TV, free uncapped WiFi, microwave, kettle, fridge, a study desk, the bedroom is large with en-suite bathroom. An array of cereals are provided for breakfast or a breakfast pack can be provided. You can book for a decadently delicious hot breakfast or dinner. The space After parking under your carport, just walk around the garage to your private entrance.. The entrance to the stairs is the only occasionally shared area of the unit as my office is nestled under the stairs. Normally the door leading to the main house will be locked and we will not be a bother to you unless of course you wish to join our family downstairs or use the kitchen to prepare your own meal. The 41 square meter attic you are staying in has been converted to a semi self catering unit in the sense that you have a kitchenette with a microwave oven, kettle and fridge at your disposal. This entire area is serviced by two airconditioning units so you will be cool in summer and warm in winter. The attic is divided into two definite spaces - a dedicated bedroom with en suite bathroom, and a multi function living area. As you walk in by the entry door you are in the lounge area. Here you can sit down in some very comfortable couches and enjoy what's on Netflix. You may log into other subscription services if you have an account as the TV in your room is a smart TV. The next area is the breakfast nook and working area. Here you can make use of the complementary milk and cereal for a breakfast and brew yourself a cup of tea or coffee. At the study desk there is a multi plug provided for charging phones and where you can sit with your laptop. Alternatively there is a desk at the small window where you have a lovely view of the street. The bedroom has a single and a double bed. There is room for one extra folding bed here or a camping cot. If more sleeping room is required we have two more camping beds in the closet we can place in the living area for additional family. There's a built in closet for hanging space, a pants press, full length mirror so you can dress to impress if you need to attend a function. We trust you will enjoy your stay with us. Guest access Travel back in time with us. Old house, old neighborhood, filled with countless antiques that are still fulfilling their intended purpose. We believe that old school quality beats contemporary quantity by far. Join us in the kitchen where you will find antique coal, paraffin and gas stoves still doing their thing, creating culinary treats like grandma would remember. Relax with us in the lounge and browse through a very extensive record collection where you can also listen to records played on an authentic gramophone. You can also enjoy our very large back yard, ideal for kids to run and play games in. We have a number of games we can make available, like badminton or croquet. At the back of our yard we have a large frame for a projector screen. Weather permitting we can host up to 10 vehicles for a Roadhouse and Drive-in experience. You park your vehicle and enjoy food from our 'Roadhouse' brought on a window tray to your vehicle while you enjoy a movie with the soundtrack on your vehicle's radio. This experience must be booked separately from the accommodation with us. During your stay We respect your privacy. Once you booked in we will endeavor not to bother you. However during loadshedding it may be necessary for us to access the distribution board behind the door, or ask you to switch the geyser off in order to run the generator. Guests staying for longer than a week must allow us for housekeeping over a weekend. Should you need something, please don't hesitate to come and ask. There will nearly always be someone available to assist you. If not, give us a ring and we'll be back soon to assist you. Should you book for a hot breakfast (R70 per person, book the day before). Dinner must be booked before 15h00 on the day, you can choose to eat along with us at R50pp. Dish up and have it in your room or you can join us as a family in our dining room. Other things to note The water to the house is fed from a tank via a pressure pump. during loadshedding no water is supplied to the house unless the generator is running. We do not normally run the generator for stages 1 to 4 loadshedding, however if you require we can run the generator at an additional cost of R60per hour or part thereof to you.
