The home to Brent and Becky Heath, owners of Brent and Becky's Bulbs, nationally known flower bulb experts, speakers, writers, and educators. At one time, this home on Back Creek was the family business. Gardens abound as do the views and space from the wrap around porch. "Hodge Podge", which is passive solar, was built by Brent and Becky using recycled materials. Wood from barns, marble window sills that were once a cruise ship dance floor, and more create a unique home with tons of character! "Hodge Podge" is a rustic retreat! We have WiFi (yay!), but no cable TV. And, we only pick up Verizon cellular services, but even that is iffy! But did we mention that we have WiFi? We may be around working in the gardens, but we will not enter the home while you're there. We're out in "the sticks", so if you're looking for a peaceful quiet get-away, congratulations, you just found it! Feel free to walk the gardens, use the dock to fish or go crabbing, and the entire house is yours to use, except the attic, basement and 2 rooms that have locked doors. Our family lives on this 10-acre property. We work 1.5 miles away. We're usually available. But we also travel for business. We're a phone call away if you need anything. We live in a very quiet section of town. We're off the beaten path and offer tons of privacy. We are close to Gloucester, Mathews, and even Williamsburg. Brent has lived on this property for almost his whole life, and as a family, we know a few things about the history of the area and the places to visit. We'd be happy to recommend restaurants in our area or things to visit or see while you're here. The road leading into our property (Daffodil Lane & Heath Trail) is used as a quiet walking road for a few locals. And the gardens are something that you'll want to see. So, start your evenings with a cocktail garden walk.
