Perfect for walkers and cyclists
Description
Our home (that we also live in) is a converted barn with huge exposed oak beams and two guest bedrooms in Hawkswick (your booking is for one of these rooms - there is an additional cost if you want 2 rooms) - a small, hidden gem in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Listen to the river and owls at night, then in the morning take the footpath over the fell to Kettlewell. The space The converted barn (semi-detached - the farmhouse beside it is not ours!) is our home where we live and we are delighted to share it with our guests - we have 2 spare bedrooms. We also provide a Continental Breakfast. Our village has stunning scenery and a lack of tourists. Perfect for walking and cycling and a great base for exploring the unique, unspoiled countryside of the dales or the cultural and historic wealth of Yorkshire. Guest access An en-suite bedroom; 1 extra twin bedroom (it is also possible to occasionally provide a 3rd bedroom - double) with a private bathroom. Each booking is per room - regardless of whether there is one or two guests. If 2 people want separate rooms there is an additional cost. There is a separate area where you can eat breakfast and your meals. Larger family groups may also have access to some other areas. Be warned - we do have some stone steps and some creaky floorboards. If you like things to be ultra-quiet you may need some earplugs, although we do tiptoe about the place when we have guests. Other things to note Great for country lovers and those who want to get away from it all - far from the madding crowd. NEW CHANGES REGARDING COVID 19 Due to the continued dangers posed by Covid 19 we have introduced some changes to protect both guests and hosts. Our rooms are always thoroughly cleaned but the level of cleaning will be increased. We are committed to a rigorous cleaning protocol developed with leading health and hospitality experts and endorsed by Airbnb. Because of the extra time and work that this will cause there will now be a minimum stay of 2 nights. To be in line with social distancing our kitchen will not be usually available for use (there may be exceptions for larger family groups and longer stays), but there is a separate eating area that will be exclusively used by guests. Meals will be taken here. Breakfast will now be continental, with cereals and home-made bread and jams and guests helping themselves. A cooked evening meal can be provided. The Living Room will be available. There are lots of places to sit or eat outside too. Previously the kitchen and living room were also available, but now that will be an exception. Apologies for these changes - but they are intended to try to keep us all safer. Do contact us if you want more information or clarification. These changes are under constant review and as Covid 19 recedes we hope to relax them.
