Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family adventure (or both!) or just somewhere to unwind, you can enjoy countryside and the authenticity of living off-grid, with the comforts of a real bed and hot shower! Pitched under a canopy of Poplar trees, our 5 metre bell tent provides plenty of space for up to 4. We have a cosy double bed, and if friends/the kids you'll just need to bring bedding and we'll lend you some airbeds/campbeds. To help you know what to pack here is what we'll provide for your stay: - Bed linen* and extra blankets (+ hot water bottles) for the double bed - Towels for 2 guests* - 2 (Optional) single airbeds/campbeds - Lighting and bedside lanterns - Small mirror - Charging power bank - Outdoor cooking tripod & grill - Gas stove - Pots, pans and cooking utensils - Plates, bowls, beakers, cutlery and that all important bottle opener - Eco washing up liquid - Tea towels - Kilner jar of drinking water - A free box of firewood (you can refill your box for a £5 honesty fee) Our top 4 recommendations you pack are: - Towels for any extra guests - Coolbox (you can chill bottles in the river) - Picnic blanket - Cards/boardgames (we have temporarily removed these until further notice) - Download the free AllTrails App for great maps and suggested routes. *We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs at no extra cost. However, we do ask that you bring your own bed linen and towels and carefully pick up after your dog on the site. There are often sheep in the neighboring field so please be confident that your dog will be safe around them as there are the normal strict rules on the farm for dogs chasing livestock. Guest access Please drive carefully, we are tucked away at the bottom of a field accessible from a small country lane which is popular with walkers and cyclists. The gate from the lane into the field is padlocked and you must keep this shut and locked as you come and go. Driving along the mown path through the field will lead through another gate and onto the site. It's a good idea to keep this gate closed too as sheep will often be in or moved in the the main field during your stay - best to keep them the right side of the fence! The whole site is yours alone to enjoy. You are welcome to swim in the river, but please do not cross to the other side as this belongs to another farm. Other things to note More than 2 guests? Any additional guests are only £10 each per TRIP. The booking system here charges this per night, but we will correct the price once the booking has come through. Extreme Weather In the extreme floods of July 2007, had the site been set up then, it would have been under water. It is for this reason we have to caution that, in the very rare instance that this should this happen again, we would have to cancel your stay. We would of course office a full refund, but are not liable for any other travel costs or replacement stays. Should we experience a very hot summer like 2018, we also ask that guest are very careful with the fire-pit as the ground became very dry and vulnerable. For your safety, and to protect the site, we reserve the right to place a fire ban on the area.
