Relax and recharge in scenic Putney, Vermont. This private home sits at the end of a quiet dirt road, just ½ mile from Route 5 and 2.5 miles from I-91. Enjoy magnificent views across 46 acres of land, complete with a peaceful 7-acre pond. The space Note : The pond is not for swimming or boating. Beavers, turtles and frogs use it as their home and forest animals stop by for a drink. The home is situated on a beautiful 46 acre estate that is joined with conservation land. You are on top of the hill with views of New Hampshire Hills.The first floor offers living room with propane heat. The large windows adjoin the seating area that seats 6. There is a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, dishwasher and all the amenities one would need in a kitchen. We offer free coffee, tea, sugar and some pantry staples. The floor is tiled. There is a full bathroom on the first floor with a tub. On the 2nd level there is a brand new washer and dryer. One bedroom has 2 twin beds and the master bedroom includes a king bed and a 2twin bedsIf you have more guests you can bring an aero bed or sleeping bag. There’s plenty of room. In the master there is a walk in closet. There is another full bath on the 2nd floor and a deck off the master bedroom. The entire guest house is 1700 sq ft. Across the house is the home where our family of 3 live in and there is a 3 car garage. There is no cable TV but there is free WiFi. The property is 2.5 miles from the Putney Food Coop, General Store, Shops, library and the West Hills Bike Shop for rentals of bikes, cross country skis and Snowshoes. House is less than an hour to MountSnow, Bromley, Magic, Stratton and Okemo. Farm stands, Orchards, and festivals are plentiful. Brattleboro is a quick 15 minute drive and hosts the Brattleboro film festival in the fall. The YellowBarn hosts the world famous music festival in the summer. We are within close proximity to Landmark College along with the Putney and Greenwood School. Keene State College is 30 min away. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire guest house they are renting as well as the surrounding property. Maps and local information will also be provided. Other things to note House Rules & Important Notes An additional guest fee of $25 per person, per night applies. Only registered guests listed on the reservation are permitted on the property. This includes daytime visitors. For liability and neighborhood considerations, we are unable to allow unregistered guests at any time. We truly enjoy sharing our home and appreciate your understanding in keeping the reservation limited to registered guests only. Due to the location of the home and frequent town-imposed fire bans, there is no grill or fire pit available on the property. Please note that we have a young Great Dane who lives on the property. While he is friendly, he is quite large and may bark briefly upon your arrival to say hello. He will always be kept on a leash. Please be advised that we have a very steep driveway that warrants good tires and a car suitable for Vermont Winters. A full refund will always be issued for inclement weather.
