Not yet. Because sometimes it's actually fun not to know exactly what awaits you behind a door. In the former library of our village school from 1953, we have created something special. The character of the old school has been preserved, with the high ceilings and the atmosphere of yesteryear, but inside everything has been completely renovated. Until the new pictures are ready, you can book the City Loft as the Surprise Loft. So you know what you're getting, but not exactly what it looks like yet. A little exciting? That's exactly the intention. Inside, a cozy loft for two awaits, decorated with soft colors, natural materials and beautiful details that have been carefully selected with a lot of love. Not a standard vacation apartment, but a place where you walk in and immediately feel at home. The heart of the loft is the spacious kitchen with cooking island. Here, you start the day with coffee, cook together, join us for a hearty breakfast, or have a glass of wine at the end of the day. There is a nice dining table and a comfortable sofa for two. The separate bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a spacious rain shower and beautiful lava stone walls. The lava stone floor continues into the loft and has comfortable underfloor heating. Shutters provide privacy, keep the sun out on hot days and make it wonderfully dark at night. And then the garden. Through the French doors, you can step straight into the completely newly landscaped green garden. A winding path through the greenery leads you to the loft. Outside, there are nice seating areas in the sun and in the shade. Doors open, take coffee outside and, above all, not having to do anything for a while. You enter the property through an electric access gate and park for free on private property. If you come by electric car, there is a public charging station about two minutes away. There is also plenty to discover outside the gate. The Damsterdiep runs right through the village, the Hoeksmeer nature reserve is nearby, and historic Appingedam is within cycling distance. Feel like going to the city? By direct bus or car, you can reach the center of Groningen in about 20 to 25 minutes. We also have a couple of nice old-fashioned bikes ready for you free of charge. No electric assistance, just hop on and pedal through the Groningen countryside. Along the Damsterdiep, towards Appingedam, or just see where you end up. Would you rather bring your own bike or e-bike? Of course. The loft has space to store bicycles and to recharge an e-bike. Everything you don't see has also been taken care of. Each wall has been re-insulated, and with solar panels and a home battery, as much use as possible is made of self-generated energy. You can easily check in yourself using a personal access code. The code will automatically become active at the agreed check-in time and will expire after the check-out time. This way, you can easily enter the property yourself during your stay, without a reception or key handover. You will drive through the gate. Park the car. Walk along the winding path through the greenery to the old library and follow the sign for City Loft. You enter the code and open the door... And then you won't see what you have booked until later. A little exciting? Good. That's part of it. Welcome to the City Loft. A piece of an old elementary school from 1953, reimagined for today. Guest access City Loft 9 (45m2) is all yours during your stay. You have a private entrance and can check in independently with a personal access code. This code is only active between the agreed check-in time and check-out time. You can access the property through the electric entrance gate and park for free on the private property. From the loft, you have direct access to the garden through the French doors. You have your own outdoor seating area and can also use the shared green garden. Guests can store their own bicycles at the loft, and e-bikes can be charged here. Other things to note Thanks for letting me know Everything is close, but at the City Loft, it's all about taking it easy. You don't actually have to do anything here. Relaxing on the couch with a glass of wine and a good series is also just a great day. Wake up leisurely the next morning and only then decide what you feel like doing. Don't feel like making breakfast for yourself? Then order breakfast from Ontbijtservice Noord Nederland in good time and have it delivered. Of course, you can also pick up sandwiches yourself. About 3 km away, you will find a bakery and a supermarket, and about 6 km away is the largest supermarket in the northern Netherlands. You can also eat out nearby. There is a cafeteria 100 meters away and a nice dinner café about 1.5 km away. In Appingedam and the surrounding villages, there are also plenty of nice restaurants and terraces to be found. If you want to go out, grab one of our free bicycles. They're just nice, old-fashioned bikes, so you really have to pedal. Along the Damsterdiep, towards Appingedam, or just out into the countryside. Of course, you can also bring your own bicycles and e-bikes. You can store and charge them at the loft. The Canadian kayak can also be reserved for free. Groningen is surprisingly close. The direct bus stops within walking distance, and about 25 minutes later, you are right in the center. If you come by car, you can park for free on our property behind the electric gate. You can charge an electric car about two minutes away. And yes, the new photos are still missing. The City Loft has been completely renovated, and we're keeping the final result a surprise for a little while longer. Until then, you can really book the loft as Surprise Loft.
