The Potting Shed

The Potting Shed is a historic and pretty building, that has been recently converted providing comfortable, rustic accommodation in its own, completely private 3000sqm garden. Fruit and vegetables still grow in the garden here. Accessed via a tree lined pathway and sitting within the Garden Retreat, the potting shed is ideal for a romantic getaway or relaxing escape from reality. There is a fire pit/grill with logs available. The perfect base to enjoy Snowdrops at Welford Park. The space The accommodation is self-contained with private access, large double bed, shower room, and well-equipped kitchen. Despite being traditional, it has all the mod cons of large TV and excellent WIFI. Doors open on to a gravelled area with outdoor seating under a pergola where you can relax and take in the view of the large garden while your food cooks on the BBQ. If you prefer something more active there is a boules pitch within the garden or access to a tennis court by prior arrangement. The garden is secure and perfect for 1 well behaved dog. If there are more than 2 of you there is the Garden Cabin in the bottom half of the walled garden, also with a beautiful outside space and comfy bed, perfect for a social holiday in a larger group where you also want your own space. The property is located on the Berkshire/ Oxfordshire border on the edge of a country estate, with the Ridgeway a stone’s throw away for exceptional cycling and walking. There are many local pubs within walking distance and a farm shop. We will provide you with a welcome pack and directions to local areas of interest when you arrive. With the M4 just 10 minutes away and the A34 just 15 minutes, the property makes the perfect base from which to explore the south of the country. Historic Oxford and Blenheim Palace are within easy access for a bit of sight-seeing or horse racing enthusiasts can enjoy a day out at nearby Newbury Racecourse, Royal Windsor or Ascot. We look forward to welcoming you to the potting shed. 2 night minimum stay. 1 dog allowed subject to an extra charge of £30 payable on arrival. Tents can be pitched on the lawn for an extra charge of £20 per tent per night payable on arrival. *Please note there is a short walk from the car on un-level ground to access the accommodation* Covid-19 We have taken extra precautions with regard to the virus and when we welcome you will abide by social distancing rules. We have also committed to the Airbnb’s cleaning protocol as well as removing unnecessary crockery and soft furnishings to restrict the spread of the virus. If using the tennis court guests will be asked to provide their own equipment. Guest access Please note there is a 100 meter walk from the car to The Potting Shed on uneven ground.
