Off grid exclusive rest camp at the lake

The off grid Rest Camp offers a unique option to pack your tent and camp and/or use 2 comfortable and clean bedrooms. It is the ONLY campsite on the 1600HA Syringa Sands game farm and has a lapa & braai area; a kitchenette with a 2 pit gas burner; a separate toilet & gas geyser shower. Up to 8 glampers welcome. You will find us halfway Vaalwater & Thabazimbi, along a scenic 45km dirt road. A 4x4 or high clearance vehicle is recommended. Suitable only for 4x4 trailers and caravans. The space The off grid Rest Camp is situated at a large farm dam (man made lake), enjoy some boating and swimming, remember to bring life vests and floating devices. Pack fishing tackle and try your luck catching some bass or carp. The kitchenette is equipped with basic pots and pans, plates and cutlery. It has a two pit gas burner, no fridge or freezer, bring ice and cooler boxes. Prefer using the bedrooms? There is a double bed configuration and a 2 x singles layout. All mattresses are single, bring your own linen and towels. The bedrooms, kitchenette and undercover area have basic solar lighting. Campers can pitch their tents anywhere around the lapa/undercover area, they have exclusive use of the lapa/undercover area and ablutions. The site allows for excellent game viewing as many of the plains game, such as kudu, impala, giraffes and eland drink at the dam or at the stream flowing from it. Also, if you like bird watching, many of the African wetland birds are frequent visitors: jacana's, egrets, kingfishers and occasionally a fish eagle can be spotted. There are 2 holiday cottages (about 3 km from the Rest Camp) on the farm as well, cottage guests may also visit the dam and enjoy a bit of fishing. Guest access The closest towns are Vaalwater and Thabazimbi, at a 50km distance. Syringa Sands is a remote nature place, with few neighbours, no shops or restaurants close by. Guests are invited to enjoy the entire 1,600 HA (16 square km) of the Syringa Sands Private Game Farm on foot or bicycle. We are a nature farm - we regret no self -drive or quad bikes. Other things to note Syringa Sands game farm is located in Limpopo halfway Thabazimbi and Vaalwater along a 50km dirt road. The farm is 265km from Gauteng. Due to the last 50km on dirt, the travel time will be approx. 3 hours. It is recommended to arrive by day light as the dirt road is not easy to navigate in the dark and there may kudu, warthog and wildlife in the roads. In the rainy season, from mid November to mid March, a high clearance 4x4 (Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Jimny Jeep type) is required to travel the dirt road and farm tracks. The Rest Camp is situated at a large farm dam, enjoy some boating and swimming, remember to bring life vests and floating devices. Children are welcome, however they should be supervised at all times, be able to swim, wear life vests or appropriate floating devices. Syringa Sands Private Game Farm is situated in the Waterberg area, due to its remote location the site has limited solar lighting, no WIFI and intermittent mobile phone reception only. Please remember to bring fire wood (for sale on the side of the road) to make a braai/BBQ torches/lights and drinking water. The water available is pumped from the dam.
