This beautiful 1905 home is located in one of Walton's finest neighborhoods and surrounded by other beautiful homes. This house is comfortable and quiet with wrap-around porch, private yard, and large back deck. We also have high-speed internet, cable tv, plenty of puzzles & board games to enjoy during your stay. The home is located just minutes from local restaurants, parks, theatre, and surrounded by the beautiful Catskill Mountains! This is a very elegant home that maintains most of it's turn-of-the-century details: beautiful woodwork, pocket doors, and period fixtures. The rooms are large and comfortable and all visitors to this home have impressed with its beauty and charm. The main living space for guests is the first floor of the house. However, guests will have sole use of the entire home during their stay. That being said, the first floor includes the front parlor as sitting area; the rear parlor as bedroom; dining room; large kitchen with breakfast bar; half-bath with stackable washer/dryer; and rear porch converted to cozy sun room space. Full bath is just up the rear staircase on the second floor. There is a twin bed available in one of the upstairs bedrooms for a third guest if desired at an additional $25 per day. Two of the bedrooms are for personal use and will be closed to guests. We are local and are always available by phone throughout your stay to answer questions from "Where's the dish soap?" to "Where's a good place for dinner?" Nestled in between beautiful mountains, Walton is located on the West Branch of the Delaware River near great trout fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and an area loaded with fascinating history. Walton is also home to the great Delaware County Fair in August and the American Cancer Society's Harvest Festival in October. Our farming community also boasts many local Catskill farms with fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, farm tours and summertime events. We are located just over an hour from Cooperstown with its Baseball Hall of Fame, museums, and sports parks. We are also just two-and-one-half hours from Metropolitan New York, and two hours from Albany, Syracuse, and Scranton. An ideal centralized location for great day trips! But this IS the country and you will most likely need a vehicle to get around. However there is a Trailways bus that comes to the village of Delhi (15 miles away).
