The house is called Zwergenschule and is the annex of the "Old School Kirmutscheid", which is protected inside and outside, almost 200 years old. It is located off in the forest and is interesting for nature lovers, hikers, visitors to the nearby Nürburgring and for lovers of historical buildings. Up to 4 people Dogs are welcome and cost €4/dog/night (payable on site). Also bookable here at the same address: the main building "Alte Schule Kirmutscheid". On the upper floor there is a bedroom with 2 single beds (each 1 x 2 m) and a sleeping loft with double bed (160 x 200). The house is suitable for lovers of authentic, historic buildings and for nature lovers. If you are looking for modern comfort, this is the wrong place. However, if you want to trace life in the "good old days," which were not always so good, you are welcome. The passage width of the doors is smaller than usual, one of the doors measures only 50 cm wide. The staircase up is narrow, but cannot be changed because of the monument protection. If you do not like the stairs, you may refrain from booking and rather book the teacher's apartment, which is located next door in the main house. In the bedroom, a standing height of 175 cm is only guaranteed on the outer wall. All this is historically guaranteed and is a listed building - including the interior design of the building. It is not permitted to install or convert anything there according to today's standards. The Zwergenschule is very nice for 2 people, good for 3 and still sufficient for 4 people. The adjacent "Alte Schule Kimutscheid" is more spacious and is also listed here. The lonely location in the forest is characterized by hikers, nature lovers and Nürburgring visitors. The house is heated by an automatically functioning pellet stove. The kitchen is equipped with a stove / oven, fridge, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. You will find a dining service, a sufficiently large number of cooking utensils and other kitchen equipment. In the living room, a sofa and 2 armchairs invite you to relax, the satellite TV receives the usual programs. There is no Internet connection here. Because of the frequent inquiries: In the bathroom there is no outhouse toilet, but a normal water flushing toilet. Originally the Herzelhäuschen was outside, there were no outhouses inside residential buildings. Since animals are also often guests there, no animal hair freedom can be guaranteed. If you don't want this, please don't book. The same goes for critics of the interior staircase. I can no longer listen to it now, after years, that these stairs are too narrow and too steep and must point out that the previous generations had to live like this. If you have any concerns, please do not book. If you want a little more space and a little more comfort, you can book the main building, the "Old School Kirmutscheid", also on Airbnb. Currently, the pellet stove is not used for heating, as most guests do not handle it as intended and it is then defective. Heating is therefore now electric. If you want to see flames in the stove, take the "Alte Schule Kirmutscheid" next door, which has a tamper-proof pellet stove. Check-in possible between 4-5 pm or between 7-8 pm. Guest access Right in front of the house is your private small terrace with garden chairs, next to the house you have an open-air space and a covered space with garden furniture. The orientation is southwest, so you can find shade under the canopy. Other things to note Heating costs of €8 per 15 kg wood pellet bag will be billed according to consumption at the end of the stay. No Wi-Fi available far and wide. In the school building next door there is also a vacation apartment, which is completely separated from the Zwergenschule both spatially and from the outside. Since the Wirftbach-Schleife hiking trail in the Obere Ahr-Hocheifel nature conservation project leads past the house, many hikers use the distinctive location of the house to start their hike here. On holidays and weekends in summer, you can hear the arrival and departure traffic to the Nürburgring via the B258, which then increases.
