Description
A beautiful and unusual, 300+yr-old Cotswold house with new fixtures & cosy beds, fitted kitchen, log burner, 32ft sitting room, dining areas inside & out, and secure garden. Old Cotswold beams/exposed stone walls everywhere. 4 mins walk - Cotswold gastro pub, kids playground & church. 5 mins drive - UK's largest water park. 8 mins - local shops. 15 mins - superstores or the capital, Cirencester. Automatic savings for 3 nights, a week or two weeks. A perfect family Cotswold retreat. The space The house is perfectly positioned, in the only Cotswold village in Wiltshire, between Swindon and Cirencester (just off the A419). Hundreds of years ago it would have been two cottages, but now one unusual four-bed semi-detached house, retaining so many special features of wooden beams, nooks, and exposed stone everywhere. It is a real Cotswold home. There are two large double bedrooms, one mid-sized double bedroom, and a small single bedroom. Guest access You can make yourself at home and use most amenities. There are board games, card games, some childrens' toys and a darts board (with laser distance underneath) available. Please remember it is my home too - every week - so treat it as you would want someone to treat your home. Other things to note – – !! VERY IMPORTANT – – !! VERY IMPORTANT !! – – NEIGHBOURS The house is semi-detached, with a flying freehold (which means a small part of my house is under the neighbours' house - namely the front door, downstairs loo). Clearly they, as well as surrounding neighbours, would appreciate no loud music, disturbance, or noise in the house or garden that is excessive. Please BE THOUGHTFUL OF THE NEIGHBOURS. CONSERVATORY/LEAN-TO The dining room is an unheated conservatory. If you need to use them, please remember to unplug the supplied heaters when you are not in the room. The dining table is an original mahogany 'Riley' Pool/snooker table (not for use to play I'm afraid). PLEASE USE TABLE AND DRINKS MATS PROVIDED ALWAYS. DO NOT PUT GLASSES, MUGS, PLATES, CANDLES or ANYTHING DIRECTLY ON THE TABLE. These will permanently mark the table and strip the french polish. MOP UP SPILLS IMMEDIATELY. Below the slatted mahogany top is the green baize of the original pool/snooker table. It is covered with a silver protector sheet, but any spills not immediately moped up may seep through and ruin the table. SITTING ROOM In the winter you may wish to light the fireplace. Please follow the instructions in the house brochure or ask me if not sure at all. DO NOT ever leave the fire unattended and do not overload it. If you bring your own logs and firelighters then great (they cost around £9 for 10 logs in Homebase). Otherwise, you can use the logs in the house – but please leave a contribution to replenishing them for the next guests. BEDROOMS There are 4 bedrooms as detailed. You may not have any more people in the house, at any time, than beds allow. No sofa-surfing thank you. Many thanks for reading and taking note of all these points. I just want you to have a wonderful time. ELECTRICITY Please do not charge your vehicle using the house electricity as this would not be fair usage of the rental. Thank you.
