Elands Bay offers beautiful West Coast landscapes and wildlife. The area is also rich in archeological and natural history. Flowers in spring, crayfish in Summer. World-class Surfing, Windsurfing & Kiting, Birding, Fishing, Crayfishing, Hiking, etc. The space The Berries is a rustic timber cabin, built from recycled material. The cabin is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the South side of Elands Bay, closest to Baboon Point and bordering the dune reserve on the beach. This is the quiet and private corner of Elands Bay, which enjoys the most wind shelter, being the closest to the mountain. The timber log Cottage faces the mountain, with a view of the beach and sunset over the ocean. The cottage faces away from the South-Easter, opening onto a large timber deck, indigenous garden and outdoor firepit under the stars. If you are lucky, you will get to meet the mongeese living on the property, or see the resident pair of Black Eagles which nest on the cliffs directly out front of the house. With 2 Bedrooms and a separate Sleeping Alcove, the cottage comfortably sleeps 8 persons. Open plan Kitchen, Dining and Livingroom. Family Bathroom includes a bath and a large Shower. Outdoor Shower allows for rinsing off when returning from the beach. Full bedding and bath towels provided, bring your own beach towels. No smoking in the house. Small pets welcome, by prior arrangement. 1 min walk from the house onto the beach. 10 mins walk along the beach to world-class Elands Bay Point surf. 15 mins walk around Baboon Point to Bushman Cave paintings. 20 mins climb up to the top of the mountain, affording views of all of Elands Bay, up the coast and inland of Verlorenvlei. Guest access Parking for 2 vehicles under covered carport on the property. Additional off-street parking available in the cul-de-sac outside. Easy access via boardwalk directly onto the beach.
