Eat out at one of the many restaurants nearby or dine alfresco & cook in the dining/kitchen then light the log fire & cosy up infront of the TV The space Lavender Cottage is immaculate and cleanliness is our top priority This detached cottage is comfortable, quiet, clean and convenient to all amenities We sourced the best mattress’to ensure your stay is the best possible - we understand sleep is important especially whilst on holiday! We try to be environmentally friendly and have been awarded GOLD from Green Tourism - all our cleaning products are biodegradable and any items we can’t recycle can be taken to the leisure centre where there’s a larger recycling centre You won’t find little plastic bottles of shampoos here, but we’re happy to help you find anything you may have forgotten Gifts for children are left on their beds and Robes and slippers are provided for the duration of your stay. There’s a lockable store for bikes and pushchairs and once parked up, it’s easy to not need your car again as everything is within walking distance The welcome pack contains cereal, butter, marmalade, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, bread and milk to get your stay off to a good start - everything else you may need is a short walk away or can be found in our guest info folder Lavender Cottage has a contemporary feel whilst maintaining lots of original features. Everything is brand new and sparkling clean. (We are delighted with our many positive Google reviews please have a look if you’d like to know more about what previous guests enjoyed) There’s a bus stop just outside the residential courtyard with regular buses to Nottingham or to Newark over the road. A net of logs to get the log burner going is provided free of charge further supplies can be brought down to your door for a small cost. A table and chairs outside the cottage is the perfect place to dine alfresco in the private courtyard This is a quaint historic property and Southwell is a beautiful historic town with national trust properties a cathedral and numerous festivals throughout the year. We’re proud to have been awarded Gold in 2025 from Visit Nottingham Tourist board for the best self catering cottage in Nottinghamshire and are finalist for this award again in 2026 Guest access Guests have full access to this self contained detached property. A welcome pack is provided Everything is within easy walking distance you won’t need to use the car again once parked up! There is a small shed, should you need to park bikes and pushchairs in there Further supplies can be purchased from the market on Thursdays and Saturdays or CO-OP nearby on the Ropewalk or one stop on Queen street Other things to note Ours is a characterful old English cottage with beams - if you’re over 6ft 6” you may need to bob down a bit!
