Betty the Bedford with outdoor jacuzzi bath
Betty the Bedford with outdoor jacuzzi bath
Description
Betty the Bedford is a beautifully restored 1960s British Bedford horsebox, lovingly converted into a unique rural retreat in 2013. Tucked away in an enchanting spot on the farm, Betty sleeps two and offers complete seclusion - perfect for switching off and unwinding in nature. The space Betty is (small) dog-friendly and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a cosy countryside escape — from the comfortable king-size bed and fully equipped kitchen to the toasty wood-burning stove and TV. For something truly special, unwind in the outdoor Jacuzzi bath beneath wide, starry skies - even better with a glass of bubbles in hand. Just across the deck, you’ll find your private bathroom cabin, finished with luxury amenities and rustic-chic interiors. Spend relaxed evenings enjoying sundowners on the deck, taking in the views and cooking up a feast on the BBQ. Full of character and charm, Betty remains one of our most popular retreats. Please note: Betty is exposed to the elements and, during periods of extreme cold weather, pipes may occasionally freeze, which can affect the water supply. We will always do everything possible to minimise disruption, but in rare circumstances we may need to reschedule your stay for your comfort and safety. Guest access Guests have private use of Betty the Bedford, including the deck, outdoor Jacuzzi bath and separate bathroom cabin. You’re welcome to enjoy the surrounding field and nearby woodland areas while on site. As Cedar Valley is part of a private estate, we kindly ask guests to stick to marked and authorised areas only. Parking is available on the wood-chipped area next to Betty. Please avoid driving on the grass verges, especially during the winter months when the ground may be wet. Other things to note CHILDREN Regrettably, Betty is not suitable for children over the age of 1 year. DOGS Small dogs are welcome. We kindly ask that they are kept on a lead while on site and that any mess is cleared promptly. Betty sits on an active farming and shooting estate surrounded by wildlife - including runner ducks, chickens, hares, deer, pheasants and partridges - so even well-behaved dogs may be tempted to explore. Please do not allow dogs on the bed or chairs. A £25 fee per pet per stay applies. WOOD BURNER Please use only the logs and kindling provided. Additional supplies can be found in the store shed to the left of the bathroom cabin. We ask for an £8 contribution per top-up via the honesty (cigar!) box in the store. OUTDOOR FIRES & BBQ There is a fire bowl on the deck for cosy evenings, plus a fire pit on the grassy area just below Betty. A BBQ is also provided for outdoor cooking. We supply an initial basket of dry split ash logs (sourced from the estate) along with kindling. If you need to top up from the store shed, we kindly ask for an £8 contribution via the honesty (cigar!) box. Charcoal is also available to purchase at £8 per bag.
