Mongolian Yurt in a Mountain Town
The yurt sits in a quiet neighborhood above the 1,100 person mountain hamlet of Republic, Washington about 25 miles south of the Canadian border. Mt. Gibralter and the forested San Poil Valley occupy the beautiful view. Nearby restaurants and shops are in walking distance and the area abounds with wildlife, hiking, biking, boating, xc skiing, motorized recreation, and the Stonerose Eocene Fossil site. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The space Heated by a fully stocked wood stove, the 16' diameter yurt has a full platform bed with a two-sided electric blanket, comfy chair, table, two burner propane camp stove, mini-refrigerator, electric kettle, coffeemaker, pots, pans, dishes, a 49" flat screen TV, 20+ gbps wifi connection, and charming Tivoli lights surround the interior. Behind the curtain is a Luggable Loo 5g camp toilet with a multi-use capacity liner. There is no indoor plumbing, but there is a 5g drinkable water container inside and and a nearby outdoor faucet. There's also a spare twin mattress and plenty of extra bedding. Guest access The yurt is a 5 minute walk down the hill to main street with its restaurants, shops, grocery stores (a natural foods Co-op and a regular grocery store), and laundromat (showers are available there). There is an umbrella table and four comfortable chairs just outside the yurt. The door has a lock, there is parking a few steps away, and the woodpile is always full. Other things to note The experience of the yurt is like camping but a whole lot more comfortable with a nice bed, big TV, great connectivity, and deer and wild turkeys that regularly visit. We offer a solar shower in a privacy tent and there's a large BBQ available for you to use. The host house is next door. There are two hybrid road/off-road bikes available for rent (and car rack) and there's a beautiful bike path along Curlew Lake just a few miles north of town that is part of an international rail trail corridor that goes into Canada.
