A well-equipped classic Finnish log cabin by the lake in Eastern Finland. Also a separate sleeping hut with a double bed, a sauna, outdoor toilet and barbecue shed. The cottage has a loft, kitchenette, fireplace and bio-toilet. Drinking water comes from a natural spring, wash water can be taken from the lake with an automatic pump. A rowing boat available. Nearest shop in Palonurmi (8.5 km). 300 m from the main road (Kangaslahdentie). Pets are welcome. The space The 45-square-meter cottage, built by the owners themselves, has a spacious sleeping loft for two and a single bed (120 cm) in the sleeping corner downstairs. There is also a wooden spreadable bed for one person in the living room. If the double bed in a separate sleeping shed is included, the premises comfortably accommodate 6 people. The veranda with a great view to the lake is a nice place to spent time on a rainy day. Both the cottage and the open air terrace have a dining table and benches. Guest access The cottage does not have a pier, but you get to swim easily from the waterfront. You can also enjoy rowing, fishing, picking mushrooms and picking berries. There are several interesting nature reserves and trails nearby such as Pisa, Huuhkajankierros, Rouskunhiekka and Tiilikka National Park. You can try gliding at Rautavaara airport (5 km). Tahko is 45 km away (golf, nature trails, various events). Other things to note Drinking and domestic water The water comes from a pure natural spring about 50 meters far to the corner of the sauna, from where it can be carried inside. Do not leave the water hose running unnecessarily, otherwise the spring can drain! There is an automatic pump in the sauna that lifts water from the lake. The pump has a short hose which you can use to fill the buckets and the hot water tank of the sauna heater. WiFi There is no internet connection in the cottage, but the 4G network works well. Use of the inside toilet The dry (biological) toilet can be used like a regular toilet. For it to function properly, the user should always SIT on the bowl. 1. Sit every time you use the toilet (men as well) 2. Do NOT POUR WATER into the toilet Sorting of waste Sorting waste is up to you, but it's nice if you sort it like this: 1. Mixed waste (in a container at the corner of the wood shed) 2. Biowaste 3. Deposit bottles (can be returned to the store or left at the cottage) Charcoal grill Do not use the charcoal grill on the terrace or other wooden base due to the risk of ignition. It’s better to take it out from the shed as well. Do not burn firewood in the grill. The electric grill can also be used on the outdoor terrace.
