Description
Our converted coach house offers a cosy corner in the busy village of Downton from which to visit the historic cathedral city of Salisbury and the open spaces of the New Forest. Parts of the property date back to 1475 with links to the Bishops of Winchester. There is plenty on offer in and around the village, with local shops, gardens, pubs, walks and bicycle rides along the River Avon. Bournemouth beaches are not far away. We welcome dogs (please see info regarding fee). The space There are stairs up to the double bedroom mezzanine which overlooks the living area. Please note there is no en-suite bathroom. It is downstairs through the kitchen to enable accessibility for all guests. The additional accommodation is a full size single bed (doubles up as an extra sofa) with a pull-out single bed underneath but only suitable for a young child. However the main sofa converts into a large single sofa bed which unfolds out into the room. We can also provide a travel cot with bedding, a stair gate (to be fitted by the guest) and a high chair for those with a toddler. We must make you aware of the various STAIRS in the property and stone steps if you are bringing a crawling baby or toddler. Guest access The cottage has its own private walled garden with direct access from the cottage. There is off-street parking outside the cottage. There is also a shed in the garden which can be used to store bicycles. There are 4 steep steps from the back door up into the cottage's own private garden. Those with small children MUST be aware of this please. Other things to note We welcome dogs but we do have a charge of £20 per 2 dogs for their stay which we collect on arrival. Logs are supplied for the wood burner. If more are required then there is a £10 charge.
