Four Bedroom Character Cottage Right on the Beach

Character four bedroom beach home located right on the beach close to renowned Phumula Beach Hotel in the quiet village of Umzumbe on the KZN South Coast. Perfect for two or three couples with lots of kids. There are 3 double bedrooms all en-suite and a kids dorm room with 6 beds. Adjoining games room has a pool table and kids bathroom with shower. Part of a secure complex with direct access to the beach. Private garden with entertainment area out back. Secure Parking. The space The house is the original old farmhouse of the area. It has high ceilings and wooden floors, and is tastefully decorated with vintage furniture, artworks, and interesting finds from far-flung places. There is a cook's kitchen with gas stove, electric oven and ample fridge space for large parties. Kitchen opens onto a private back yard with barbecue, entertainment area, and a potager garden with herbs to complement the fresh mussels that you have picked from the rocks on the beach. Guest access Guests have use of the entire house and the private back garden which is nicely secluded on windy days. This area is nicely shaded by a beautiful old tree, and has a herb garden with lovely culinary herbs for enthusiastic cooks. There is a built in barbecue which is a bit rusty (we are that close to the beach that we are in the salt spray zone - and even plastic rusts!) but the Braai grid is stainless steel and quite acceptable to use. There is also a Weber barbecue which we house in the back shed and this can be carried to the back garden or even around the front of the house where you can enjoy splendid ocean views while you are cooking. There is also self-contained laundry at the back of the house which is private and not available to guests. If you require laundry during your stay, our housekeeper is willing to assist. Under no condition may guests use the laundry of their own accord as we have had three washing machines damaged due to over-loading and misuse by previous guests. Other things to note The entire property is safely secured with fencing and an electric fence. There is safe secure parking on-site. We have a large water tank for adequate supply in case of interruptions to the water supply.
