North Town: croft house by the sea
Description
A traditional old croft house in the Shetland Islands, Scotland, artfully furnished with a mix of old and new things. Full of character and only 200m from a beautiful beach in a picturesque, rural setting. Great in summer or winter. The space A cosy getaway for up to four people in a quiet, rural location in the far north of Scotland. The house is well-equipped and beautifully furnished. It's an old house, so please don't expect perfection or glossy finishes. Do expect lots of style, character and charm. There's a large double bedroom with comfortable double bed, plus a small bunkroom with bunkbeds and curtain across doorway. Cosy sitting room with stove and tv. Large bright dining kitchen with washing machine. Bathroom with large old cast iron bath and electric shower over. The house has oil-fired central heating with radiators, as well as the stove. We normally let the house by the week, Saturday to Saturday, especially in summer. We can offer shorter lets out of season and for last minute bookings. If you wish to book less than 7 nights, please get in touch and we will do our best to help. Guest access The whole house and garden are yours while you're here. There's parking outside for two cars. You can hang your washing out on the line, but make sure you use enough pegs or it could blow away! Other things to note We provide one basket of logs and one basket of peat for your use included in the cost. We advise you buy extra logs in Jewson's, Lerwick, before you arrive at the house if you think you'll want to huddle round the stove a lot. Mobile phone reception is variable in the house, but that means you can really switch off. If you can't do without the phone, lean into the window in the bedroom, or sit in your car and you'll get a good signal. Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay!
