Suitable for neat and responsible adult guests, medium/long term. Large city-view bedroom with tempurpedic king-size bed (or two twins), tv, fridge, microwave, heat/AC, table, armchairs, drawers, equipped, serviced on request, quiet, elevator to 4th floor, close to all in walkable Sunnyside LIC or midtown. This listing is a private room with shared common areas, but can be available in lieu of a private studio, if I find a trusting guest/s to book it for a longer season. (So I can be out.) (Unlike hotels, home renting requires you to have a picture and a profile to introduce yourself. And so, to put me at ease as apartment cohabitants. Thanks for your understanding.) Located in Sunnyside-Queens, very safe neighborhood, close to Manhattan (on #7 train, 3 stops to Bloomingdale's shopping area and 4 stops to Central Park- 5th Avenue, Apple Store), 20' from the Grand Central Station and also direct line to Times Square (30') and The High Line, Megabus, Jacob-Javits Conventions Center at the stop Hudson Yards. Also airports or port, by metro, train and buses. If driving, scarce but safe street parking. Elevator, 4th floor, sunsets and city skyline. Downstairs is a 30 years old bakery where you can find coffee, danish or strudel starting with 6 am or a pizzeria until 1 am in the night, while in the vicinity, lots of ethnic restaurants/take-outs, all fresh and affordable, including food markets and CVS pharmacy open 24/7. Public transp. is max. two and a half blocks away (#7 local train, bus Q32 and Q60 for Manhattan, B24 to Greenpoint Avenue and Williamsburg in Brooklyn, Q39 to Ridgewood or Court Square in Queens, by the entrance of my building). My location is two blocks south from Queens Blvd ( and subway entrance), on 40th Street, at intersection with Greenpoint Avenue. The room is private, tucked away along an L-shaped hallway and near the bathroom. TV has only local stations (about 40) and Wi-Fi is fast. The kitchen is small but can accommodate light cooking and/or Vitamix preparation. I do not have a coffee machine, unfortunately. Your room has a small fridge, microwave, an electrical kettle and tea w. biscuit, an ironing board with iron, steamer, hair dryer, city guides, extra towels/bedding, a closet and big drawers for storage, a writing table. Building is rather old, yet very clean and located only two blocks from the # 7 Subway (stop is 40th Street/Lowery). When home, I live quietly in the other room. Family may visit sometimes. We share the common space and I clean the apartment almost every day. You'll get a set of keys (building, apartment and room) so you'll be totally independent, but I do need a clear orientation IN ADVANCE about your checking-in and checking-out times (or at least flying times). Btw, I have a self check-out method, just remind me about it. THANKS for your consideration! Common spaces: kitchen-eating area, bathroom. (Not very large, still a spacious apartment) I would like a friendly, easy-going, neat and responsible guest who can communicate genuinely. A guest that either visits the city or, preferably has a daily activity outside the home. I'm here to help you make the most out of your visit and not interfere otherwise. I work and study from home most days. (If you are a rigid habits personality with special requests, please let me know in advance so I can see if I can meet them or you should look elsewhere instead.) Needless to say, all your belongings are safe and secure here at all times. You can lock your room if you’d prefer, or leave it unlocked for me to replace the water bottle and collect the garbage, vacuum, etc. Your choice. Price listed is best I can do. (And, believe it or not, lower than any hostel bed in the city) Only bookings within the site can be made, thanks for understanding. You can have occasional visits from family or friends you know, IF previously announced. As listed, I charge a supplement for the second guest overnight. Please do not violate this request, this is my home and not a hotel. Not as hip as Brooklyn, Sunnyside LIC is the second best thing because of the safety & quiet, convenience and proximity to midtown. It has a real neighborhood feel, walkable and fun. Free street parking is very limited, especially at night. I do accommodate different check-in times, but only with clear, in ADVANCE notice. Thanks for your help! I also expect you to follow my very simple check-in instructions, as noted in here and email. (I will check you in at the apartment’s door. Please note that I do not come downstairs to retrieve you. Instead, at the building's entrance, please buzz 4c intercom and open the door to the lobby. Once inside, look for the elevator and take it to the 4th floor. Upstairs is where I will meet and welcome you inside. Thanks!) And because big NYC has imperfect- sometimes crowded and confusing public transportation, please familiarize yourself beforehand with the directions that I’m giving you on here, so you will not scramble to find the address, when not having data or a local phone card. (Make your life easy in NYC by knowing where you go.) Late at night I recommend only yellow cabs, Uber, or other car services arranged online or by phone because public transportation slows down. Be aware of unauthorized, expensive car rides that appear late at night in airports. (I also may not be available on the phone on your arrival day to guide you here, please be aware of this aspect. Since my phone is local, my reply texts may not reach you, if your phone is not local. Just be prepared, that is all.)
