Great and modern apartment perfectly located in the heart of Goksøyr with a private shortcut up to the mountain and the puffins. You can't live any closer to the birds. Large laundry room available on request. Very quiet and peaceful place with a fabulous view of the mountain, waterfall, and the North Sea. The space Goksøyr is the outermost village on the island of Runde. Out here you have panoramic views of the wild ocean and direct access to the bird cliffs which are the southermost in Norway. Runde boasts the widest variety of sea birds species in Scandinavia People from around the world flock here to experience the fantastic bird life and the dramatic scenery. Among other species, the charming puffins are represented here with over 100,000 nesting birds. You can learn more about the bird life on Runde Environmental Centre. There you can also learn more about the dramatic sinking and the treasure of the Dutch trade ship Akerendam. In 1972 found three divers one of the world's largest treasures of coins found in ocean at Runde. It was the Dutch ship Akerendam which sank here in the 1700s that was found, and the treasure is known worldwide for it´s enourmus value and history. Legends say that there are several great treasures located in the ocean here, and divers have searched for decades in hope of finding the next one. It is possible to book guided boat tours around the island. Parts of the Runde treasure is exhibited at Runde Environmental Centre, where you can also get a guided tour. Guest access You have access to a large apartment that occupies half of the first floor in a large detached house. The apartment consists of an entrance with the possibility to hang outerwear and put away shoes and other items. From there, you enter a large living room and kitchen in an open plan. From the living room, you have direct access to a nice bedroom with a double bed, and you can go to the bathroom via a hallway in the middle of the house. Other things to note P.S.: If the purpose of your stay is to see puffins, it's important to know that the birds begin to leave Runde around the end of July. From mid-August, it's difficult to see puffins at all.
