...maybe some of you know it, a wooden house in the forest by a small stream..beautiful nature, I'm not afraid to say “virgin”..childhood with grandpa, which is not forgotten.. ..we renovated the cottage piece by piece on our own..sometimes it was a lot of work, but there is a piece of us in it..we left a piece of our heart there.. ..we are happy to share this matter of our heart with you.. Other things to note Welcome to Chata u Starkého. We would like to say a few words at the beginning of your stay. You are coming to nature and to an environment where animals and insects are at home. Insects and mosquitoes roam the stream, especially in the early evening. A wasp or a hornet will fly by here and there. We have screens on the windows and the doors need to be closed. We try to make sure the cottage is always ready, but it may happen that a spider rents a corner and starts building its little studio. Speaking of small animals... There are plenty of them in the forest – mice, martens, etc. They can only get into the cottage if you let them in when you leave the door open. Sometimes they may get under the roof. But don't worry, they won't get inside. I would also recommend not leaving any food or garbage outside overnight. Forest dwellers will learn very quickly to attend such a feast. But let's get to the accommodation itself. Let's go through the cottage room by room. From the terrace you can get to the veranda, ideal for lunches and dinners, morning coffee. The kitchen has almost everything you need to prepare a good meal. The hob is induction so induction that there is no need for a kettle – the water will boil sooner. There is a stove in the kitchen for heating. Please be careful when you heat – as our grandmother said: "Fire is a good servant, but a bad master.In the living room, you can lie down on the couch or “put” the children there to watch TV. There is no TV signal, but there is the option to watch movies from a USB stick. There is still one in the TV, but if you bring your own, just plug it in and watch. The same applies if you have a device that you would like to connect to the TV, such as Game console or some player – use HDMI input. The bathroom is equipped as standard. If there are more of you, it is necessary to keep in mind that the boiler has 120l and the set will warm up in 3-4 hours, so that those who will shower last will have hot water. Please do not throw things that do not belong there into the toilet. It's not good for the cleaner. When climbing the stairs, watch out for steep stairs. Children in particular need to be guarded – we know from our experience that this is the biggest attraction for children from 3 to 5 years old. Up and down, up and down... There are three rooms upstairs. There are nets on the windows in each room. I recommend using them, as I mentioned, little winged friends like to fly to the cottage for exploration. I already mentioned that there is a stove for heating in the kitchen. Electric heating will also take care of your comfort in the colder months. There is underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. The operation is very simple – just press the O symbol on the panels and the heating will turn on. By default, it is set to 20°C, but the temperature can be adjusted with the arrows. There are electric oil heaters in the other rooms. You can set the temperature using +/- and confirm with OK, but it will be set to a pleasant value so that you are not cold. If you have a power outage, the distribution box is in the technical room - but it is usually a fault outside the cottage and the electricians are doing their best. There is also a waterworks in the same room in case there is a problem with the water. In case of any malfunction, call us, we do not want your stay with us to be disturbed by anything. You can also find tools if you need to fix something. Use them as your own. You will also find an older shed at the cottage. We have things stored there that you probably won't need. Please pay special attention to the children so that nothing happens to them there – we know what our little explorers are like. And finally, quite important information about the Internet. We have a rather weak 3G internet with a slower speed, but it is enough for normal activities... you can even play music comfortably... it is definitely not for streaming videos... the phone signal is weak to none... So take a break from today's hectic digital world... Enjoy the cottage and nature to the fullest as if you were at your grandfather's. Ours gave us an amazing childhood here.
