Description

In this large house of yesteryear, you can gather your children, grandchildren, or your friends. They will have at their disposal a large wooded area (about 1.5 hectares), a swimming pool for them alone (open from the end of May (Ascension) to the end of September), outbuildings with ping-pong, foosball, boules court, volleyball court... WARNING: The quiet environment and the neighborhood do not allow the organization of parties accompanied by noise at night The space Space inside and outside, games (ping pong, bowls, foosball, badminton...) no immediate neighborhood, private pool only reserved for the house, outbuildings, free wifi in the house and around, wooded park for exclusive use, fenced, pets allowed, quiet and outdoors... This large house was built in 1884, according to the date engraved above the front door. At that time, landowners in the Haute Lande were beginning to be a little less poor, thanks to the maritime pine afforestation policy initiated by Napoleon III in the mid-nineteenth century. The trees were not yet very large but they were becoming exploitable, especially for the "afforestation" of mines, and demand was high in France but especially in England. In addition, the small railways that had been built to evacuate the wood allowed the return to bring heavy materials that did not exist on site to build houses such as stones and bricks. That is why these owners, wanting to distinguish themselves from their sharecroppers, abandoned their house with wooden panels filled with mud, in favor of "hard" houses. (hence the presence of the wooden house located next door) But, while at that time the owners were a little less poor, they were not yet rich. This will come, but especially at the beginning of the following century, to the "Belle Epoque". Also do not expect to find a sumptuous interior: no "Hungarian point" parquet, no marble fireplaces, no coffered ceilings, no moldings... Everything is very simple, but equipped with all modern comforts, which makes it a pleasant house to live in, cool in summer, a little long to warm up in winter despite its large heat pump, spacious, with space around, calm and security... in short, a real "Grandmother's house". This house surrounded by its hectare and a half of park, is part of a larger property (about 8 hectares) on which there are 2 other houses: one called "Maison du Thiou" is also offered for rent (for 10 people), the other called "Maisonnave" is occupied by the owner. Although located on the same land, these 3 houses are completely independent. They each have their own entrance, their own private fenced land, their own swimming pool, their own outbuildings, games... They are far enough apart not to see each other, or even hear each other. The entire estate is fenced and, inside, the space specific to each house is itself fenced. However, gates and paths allow internal traffic. NOTE: In addition to your exclusive area, you have at your disposal, in common with the "Maison du Thiou" a very large plot called "Arboretum" because it is planted with 225 pines and various hardwoods. On this plot you will find a mini football field, a trampoline and a Mongolian yurt. In this one, a kind of games room for not too sunny days, you have an electronic piano (brand KAWAI KDP 120), some board games, a sound system, regional books, massage table... Guest access Entirety Other things to note Note: 1- sheets, towels and tea towels are not provided. Explanation: Not being a hotel but 3 private houses with a total capacity of 35 places in which you come a few weeks in summer and a few weekends the rest of the year, we cannot equip ourselves with professional equipment capable of processing the mountain of sheets and towels that their supply would generate. Our location in the heart of nature, conducive to a holiday atmosphere, distances us from urban centers where laundry companies are located. Calling on them generates mileage costs, among other things, that are rather dissuasive. Since you usually come by car, we don't think it's too complicated for you to put a few pairs of sheets and a few towels in the trunk. On the other hand, we can "help out": You have forgotten something, you have an unexpected guest, some come by plane, you need a change... No problem, tell us, we will find the solution and it will most often be free. 2-The mobile phone network. Our estate is 8 km from the village of Sabres where the relay antenna is located. So we're at the limit of range. Specifically, there is no network inside the houses. On the other hand, with a little patience you can get reception outside. But you won't be cut off from the world. The house is connected to the fiber network (Orange). You have internet.
