The Eureka House
The Eureka House
Description
Stay in the heart of Republic at Eureka House, a comfortable 2-bedroom getaway inspired by the town’s gold-rush roots. Walk downtown, explore the nearby Golden Tiger Pathway and Ferry County Rail Trail, then come home to relax on the large covered deck with a propane fire pit, BBQ and views of Gibraltar Mountain. Enjoy fast Wi-Fi, a full kitchen, locally roasted coffee and modern comforts—all from a quiet home base close to Republic’s shops, history and outdoor adventures. The space Eureka House is a comfortable 2-bedroom home designed for up to four guests. Inside you’ll find a full , well stocked kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry, fast Wi-Fi, smart TV, heating and air conditioning, blackout curtains in both bedrooms, sound machines, an assortment of books and games, and an on-demand electric hot-water system. The kitchen is stocked for cooking, along with locally roasted coffee, tea, hot cocoa, spices, and a few snacks. Historic photographs throughout the house connect the space to Republic’s mining and railroad history. Outside, guests can enjoy a large covered deck with a propane BBQ and fire pit, a fenced yard, ample parking and views of Gibraltar Mountain. The location is especially convenient for exploring on foot. Downtown Republic, the school, skatepark, and the beginning of the Golden Tiger Pathway are all within walking distance. The Golden Tiger is a roughly 3-mile multi-use path following the old railroad corridor before connecting with the Ferry County Rail Trail, which continues north toward Canada. Guest access Guests have private use of the entire home, including both bedrooms, the kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry area, covered deck, fenced yard, propane BBQ and fire pit. There is ample off-street parking. For the easiest arrival, we recommend using the upper driveway off S. Jefferson Street and entering through the back of the house. This avoids the stairs from Lower Madison Street and makes unloading luggage much easier. Guests may also park along Lower Madison Street and use the front stairs if preferred. Other things to note Eureka House is located in a residential neighborhood, so we ask guests to be considerate of our neighbors. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside, and pets are not currently allowed. The home is set up most comfortably for four guests. If your group is slightly larger—for example, you’re traveling with a baby or have another special circumstance—please message us before booking. We may be able to accommodate you depending on the situation. The home has three mini-split heating and cooling units. Each may be turned on or off separately, but if more than one is running, all operating units need to be set to the same mode—either heat or air conditioning. The stove, outdoor BBQ and fire pit use propane. Please make sure they are completely turned off after use, and never leave the fire pit unattended. Two exterior security cameras monitor the front and rear exterior entrances for guest and property security. There are no cameras or recording devices inside the home. Republic is surrounded by wildlife, and deer and wild turkeys occasionally wander through the neighborhood. Please enjoy them from a distance and don’t feed them.
