The house is located in a quiet hamlet in the heart of the Peak District (7 mins to Hartington, 20 mins to Buxton and 25 mins to Bakewell), making it a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Perfect for a relaxing getaway with family or friends. The space The house is luxuriously appointed but maintains a cosy feel. On entering the property (via the side entrance to the kitchen), you will enter a traditional and well-appointed farmhouse kitchen with underfloor heating, an AGA oven, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and SMEG fridge, a social eating space and large kitchen storage cupboard. Off the kitchen is a washer dryer, downstairs loo and a larder/cool room for extra food and drink storage, which forms one of the many important Grade II historical features of the house. There is space to hang your coats and boots behind the door to the utility area and also through the side door to the hallway where you will find original historical flagstone floors and one of the most striking features of the house – a carved stone staircase that leads to the upper floors containing bedrooms and bathrooms. From the hallway and kitchen you can access the lounge area forming a comfortable space for guests to relax in. You will find games for young and old in the cupboards. The lounge is equipped with a digital Art TV (wifi only) connected to Netflix, BBC iplayer and ITV and a Sonos music system. Wifi is very good for the area! A formal dining room which comfortably seats 10 guests can be found in a separate room off the hallway. Up the stairs you will find 5 tastefully decorated and spacious bedrooms which can be flexibly configured for groups or families with 2 king bedrooms and 3 bedrooms which can be arranged as as twin or super king beds (one with additional bunk bed for up to 2 children). 2 bedrooms include desks which can be used as workspaces if required. There are also 2 bathrooms on the upper floors, each with shower and bath and luxury hand soaps. On the top floor you will find toys, games and books suitable for young children. The house is surrounded by half an acre of green space with multiple seating areas where your group can be separate or together and take in the peaceful ambience of this beautiful setting. All furnishings are hypo-allergenic. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate pets under any circumstances. Children are very welcome however will need to be supervised on the property. There is room for 5 cars in the large turning circle forming part of the property.
