Description

Fantastic Studio Apartment in the Historic Waterfront Neighborhood of Hercules and a short walking distance is the beautiful San Pablo Bay offering spectacular water views and sunsets. This is a completely separate studio apartment with a private entrance. The space It has a full kitchen, high speed wifi (wifi system upgraded summer 2021), HDTV, a record player and tube audio stereo, full bath, and all the amenities of home. We offer a well appointed, comfy and roomy retreat. Nestled in a friendly and scenic bayside community, with easy freeway access (less than a mile from I-80 and Highway 4). Guests need to be mindful of quiet time especially in the evenings. We are a family neighborhood/community who are respectful of others and expect our guests to do the same. Some things to note: -No ADA accessibility -No pets allowed -No Smoking -No Drugs -No Parties -Keep noise level to a minimum after 2200 hour or 10pm through 8am. -Guest(s) are not allowed to use address to receive mail/package from any carrier. -Parking in the alleyway is not allowed, however there's plenty of free street parking, especially on Railroad Avenue. -We require the full name of additional guest(s) besides the one named on the Reservation Confirmation. Please provide this information through email. -Daily Pricing includes 10% City Transient Occupancy Tax We are centrally located to many Bay Area attractions and destinations: Just half an hour's drive to San Francisco; less than 20 minutes drive to Berkeley, UC Berkeley, and Solano Avenue restaurants; 25 minutes from Oakland's Jack London Square and the new Uptown District; half an hour to Sausalito and Muir Woods; 15 minutes to Six Flags theme park in Vallejo; about 25 miles to downtown Napa and the wine country. Nearby public transportation takes you to BART, and from Monday through Friday, there is non-stop LYNX bus service to downtown San Francisco. Pharmacy, shops and all manner of restaurants are all just over a mile away. For groceries, Trader Joe's and Sprouts in Pinole is 3 miles down the road. Why drive to dinner? Two friendly neighborhood restaurants, Leila's Restaurant featuring breathtaking bay views and indoor/outdoor seating and the Powder Keg Pub, are just a few steps away from the Studio. Small shops and a Saturday Farmer's Market are located at Historic Old Town Pinole, walking distance via a lovely waterfront trail. After a long day of sight seeing in San Francisco or wine tasting in Napa, you can retire to our cozy studio and rest up for the next day's adventures. We offer super clean and comfortable accommodations that are a world apart from "cookie cutter" motels and hotels; the apartment is tastefully decorated and features art from local artists. We provide a small library stocked with an assortment of books, LPs, and CDs, should you choose to just stay in and relax. Feel free to enjoy our private garden and take in the sounds of nature, or go for a leisurely stroll along Railroad Avenue to capture stunning views of San Pablo Bay with Marin and Mount Tamalpais in the distance. With gorgeous sunsets and a refreshing bay breeze, walking and biking trails abound in this scenic part of the Bay Area; the Bay Trail is just a few steps away. Looking for something to do that isn't listed in the usual Bay Area Travel Guides? Just a few minutes drive away are the historic towns of Crockett and Port Costa, off the beaten path and throwbacks to the California of a century ago. With local restaurants and watering holes such as the Dead Fish Restaurant in Crockett, and in Port Costa the Bull Valley Roadhouse and the Warehouse Saloon, featuring over 200 beers from around the world. If you are visiting friends and family in the area, you already know there are limited lodging options in Hercules and its neighboring towns. This is a great way to be close, but have your own 'space" too. Business professionals will also appreciate our proximity to local businesses while enjoying the comforts of a home setting. This sunny and inviting private studio has its own alleyway entrance. It is a completely separate, detached second story unit, adjacent to our house. It is fully equipped with all the kitchen necessities. It has a full size bathroom with shower over tub, queen size bed, full size refrigerator, microwave, oven and stove. For entertainment, there is a flat screen HDTV television, Cable TV, Roku video streaming, and for music lovers we provide a fantastic, audiophile grade GLOW Audio tube stereo system for playing records and CDs and audio from the HDTV … compliments of (URL HIDDEN). Of course free high speed wi-fi access for your laptop or iPad. If you don't want to cook or go far for dining, the charming Powder Keg Pub is literally right around the corner on Railroad Avenue, featuring great burgers, sandwiches, seafood, oysters, weekend brunch, (email hidden)ere are a number of good Chinese, Thai, Italian and other local restaurants that deliver, if you want take out. Pinole's popular Pear Street Bistro is just down the road, near King Valley Restaurant, an excellent Chinese restaurant featuring freshly made Dim Sum. While there are no water views from the studio/cottage (the partial water view is blocked by trees) there are spectacular views of San Pablo Bay around the corner from Railroad Avenue or any of the several hiking trails along the Bay. From the studio/cottage you may hear trains rolling by from the distance, as Union Pacific and Amtrak trains run all along the bay from Oakland to Sacramento. Franklin Canyon Golf Course is located in Hercules, a short distance from the cottage. Our deck is quiet and peaceful. Please make yourself at home. Several friendly outdoor cats will often be seen lazing about in our garden. Because we are so close to the San Pablo Bay, we enjoy a moderate climate and most homeowners in this bayside community do not have air conditioning. The apartment has a quiet ceiling fan to provide breeze on warm days and nights. The studio has central heating. Guest access We don’t mind sharing our patio area. Feel free to relax and lounge about. Other things to note ~ There's plenty of free street parking on Railroad Avenue if there is none available at the time you need it on Main Street. ~ Be assured that all linens, towels, and sofa cover are washed after every guest check-out. ~ There are security cameras in the patio area and in front of the main house (Host’s residence) facing the street. It records motion.
