H&B Cabin and Farm at Wilder Bent

Beautiful mountain log cabin with modern amenities located on the Powell River. Our home has a spacious kitchen, large dinning table for family meals, and a gorgeous stone fireplace made from stone found on the property. The lower level is very private and is perfect for parents, in-laws, or teens. This is a peaceful get-a-way with plenty of fishing, hiking, and kayaking. Just a few minutes from Jonesville, VA, Hwy. 58 and tourist attractions in driving distance. Your home away from home! The space We know first hand how difficult it is to find a good place to stay in this area. When we purchased our cabin home we wanted to make it available for folks like us who have family here and love this place and want to visit. Therefore we ask that you help us continue to feel good about providing this service by respecting our home and by being honest in your communication and reservations. *Be accurate in your number of guests staying the night at the cabin. If your number is incorrect we will make a request through Airbnb to be reimbursed. If only one or two people are staying, the downstairs suite will be locked and not available. This policy is strictly enforced. Please understand that the more people that use the cabin the more our cleaning services cost, the more time it takes for us to clean the cabin instead of enjoying it. Thank you! Our cabin is surrounded by beautiful mountain views, river access, and fields and forests to explore. Deer can be seen in the early morning and at dusk all over the property. Many variety of birds make this property their home. You may also see chipmunk, squirrel, and other critters. Our cabin home sleeps eight people. On the main floor the master suite has a large king bed and private bathroom with a garden tub and walk in shower. This master suite has beautiful windows and doors that open onto the wrap around deck which is a great place for drinking coffee on warm mornings. The guest bedroom, on the same floor, has a regular sized bed and is connected to a bathroom. The main floor also contains the living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry areas. The loft, upstairs, has a bunk bed which sleeps two on the bottom bunk and one person on the top bunk. There is also a cute indoor tent in the loft which is perfect for little ones. The suite downstairs has a queen bed, a standard bed, private bath and full kitchen. Space is not an issue here! If you are a party of two, the main floor will be all you need! There is a wood fireplace upstairs, washer and dryer available, large garden tub and walk-in showers on both levels. Smart TV in living room with satellite. We just got a large Smart TV for the downstairs suit and a Smart TV for the guest bedroom. You may log into your personal accounts for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Internet availability plus access to family friend movies and Wi games. Plenty of closet and storage space. Elliptical machine is available downstairs. Outdoor seating is available. Access to gas grill. Small fire pit in the yard for use. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking and baking. You may use items in kitchen pantries and appliances such as the coffee maker, microwave, ice-cream maker, etc. There are extra sheets, pillows, and towels. There are "emergency" kits in the master bath if you forget your shampoo, toothbrush, etc. There is a First Aid kit in the entry way closet. We want you to feel at home here so please use what you need. Just leave us a note or send us an email if something needs replaced. There is a security system on the house. There are game cameras throughout the property and a security camera focusing on the entrances of the house. We do have house and property rules. When you book, please message us and provide your email address. We will email the welcome book, rules, and check out lists to you. Sorry, no pets. We love animals but too many people were not adhering to our pet policy when we did have one. We were shampooing carpets, washing curtains, and vacuuming dog hair from the furniture. No smoking in our home or on the property. No vaping in our home. No cigarette butts should be left anywhere on our property. Find us on social media at H&B Cabin and Farm or hb_cabinandfarm Guest access The drive way is gravel all the way to the cabin. You may park at the entrance ramp or by the garage doors. We ask that no one in the party access the garage. The gravel driveway goes to the back of the cabin. A ramp is provided from that gravel driveway to the deck. There is one small step up into the cabin. There is a keybox on the main entrance door. About 5 days prior to your visit we will email you the physical address of the cabin and the code to the key box. You can keep the keys with you during your visit. When you check out please replace the keys into the keybox. Other things to note Our cabin is located in the country. You will enjoy birds fluttering and singing all day, turkey, and deer which are a wonder to observe. And, we also have creepy crawly friends like bugs, spiders, lizards, and snakes. Please be careful when hiking and walking around the property. There is sunscreen, bug spray, and first aid kits available if needed. Keep doors closed to help keep God's creatures outside! There is a cemetery on the property with headstones dating back to before the 1850's. We think this is very cool but some think it is creepy! At least our neighbors are very quiet! We do not mind people visiting the cemetery but please be respectful and do not allow children to play in this area. You will be required to submit an ID to Airbnb before your reservation will be confirmed. Airbnb does not share this information with me. Please message me your email address and I will send you our house manual with lots of good tips along with the house and property rules! Please put in the accurate number of guests that will be staying at the cabin. If you make a reservation and later request to bring extra guests, your reservation will be altered to reflect the accurate number. You will have 24 hours to accept the change before your reservation will be canceled. No smoking in our home or on our property. No vaping in our home. No cigarette butts should be left anywhere on our property. Please supervise children at all times in the home and on the property. ***During winter months snow will not be cleared from the driveway. we simply do not have the means to do so. Please plan appropriately. ***GPS will get you here but you should put in the directions before you leave. You will loose cell and satellite signal on the way here. Verizon cell phones do not tend to get service here. AT&T phone service seems to work. We do have a land line, wifi, and satellite TV.
