Stepping Stone | 5 bedrooms | Pike House Escapes
Description
Bring everyone together at Stepping Stone, a spacious three-storey Ashbourne home sleeping 10. Five bedrooms include a super-king en-suite, two kings and two twins. Gather in the large kitchen/diner, spread out across two sitting rooms, enjoy 5 Samsung QLED Smart TVs, a PS5 and Wi-Fi in every room, or relax in the enclosed garden. With parking for 4 cars, plus Dovedale, the Tissington Trail, Alton Towers and the Peak District within easy reach, it is made for memorable stays in comfort. The space About this space Stepping Stone is a spacious and exceptionally well-equipped five-bedroom home in Ashbourne, designed for families of up to 10 who want plenty of room to spend time together without feeling on top of one another. Set across three floors, the house has two separate sitting rooms, a large kitchen and dining space, five comfortable bedrooms, four WCs across the house, an enclosed garden and private driveway parking for four cars. Fast Wi-Fi reaches every room, making it just as easy to stream, work or keep everyone connected. The large kitchen/diner is the heart of the house and has been equipped with everything needed for anything from a quick breakfast before heading into the Peak District to a full family dinner. There is a large dining table seating all 10 guests together, double oven, gas hob, grill, microwave combination oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, kettle and toaster, together with crockery, glassware, cookware, utensils and the everyday essentials you would expect to find in a properly equipped kitchen. Coffee and basic cleaning supplies are provided too. There is a separate utility room with a Samsung washer-dryer, with washing pods supplied, particularly useful for longer stays, families and muddy days out walking or cycling. When it is time to relax, there are two separate sitting rooms. The larger lounge has generous, comfortable sofas and a 55-inch Samsung QLED Smart TV, while the smaller snug gives guests another space to spread out, with a comfortable Sofology sofa, its own 55-inch Samsung QLED Smart TV and a PlayStation 5. It works particularly well when adults want one room and children or teenagers want another. There are five bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests: • Bedroom 1 has a super-king bed, 43-inch Samsung QLED Smart TV and private en-suite with walk-in shower, basin and WC. • Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed and its own 43-inch Samsung QLED Smart TV. • Bedroom 3 is a twin bedroom. • Bedroom 4, on the top floor, has a king-size bed and its own 43-inch Samsung QLED Smart TV. • Bedroom 5, also on the top floor, is a twin bedroom. Bed linen and towels are provided, so guests can simply arrive and settle in. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are also available for families. The current syndicated Sykes specification confirms the five-bedroom arrangement and the TVs throughout the property. There is plenty of bathroom space for a house sleeping 10. On the ground floor is a separate cloakroom with WC. The super-king bedroom has its own en-suite shower room. The first floor has the main family bathroom with bath and shower, while the top floor has a further shower room with walk-in shower and WC. This gives guests four toilets across the three floors and avoids everyone competing for one bathroom in the morning. Outside is an enclosed lawned garden with outdoor seating, giving guests somewhere to enjoy a morning coffee, sit outside on warmer evenings or simply let younger members of the family have some outdoor space. There is off-road parking for up to four cars on the private driveway, and bike storage is also available. The location Stepping Stone is extremely well placed for exploring Ashbourne and the southern Peak District. Ashbourne itself is a historic Derbyshire market town, with independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. From the property, the nearest shop is around 0.4 miles away and the nearest pub around 0.5 miles away, so everyday essentials and somewhere for a drink or meal are close at hand. The Tissington Trail starts in Ashbourne and runs for 13 miles through the Peak District to Parsley Hay. It follows a former railway line and provides a largely traffic-free route for walking and cycling, with bike hire available at the Ashbourne end of the trail. Dovedale is also close by, famous for its stepping stones, River Dove and dramatic limestone scenery. From Ashbourne it is roughly four miles away, making it an easy trip for a morning walk or a full day exploring the valley. For a completely different day out, Alton Towers is around 11 miles from Ashbourne and approximately a 20-minute drive, making Stepping Stone a particularly useful base for groups visiting the theme park who would rather come back to a comfortable house than separate hotel rooms. Bakewell, Chatsworth House and the wider Peak District National Park are within easy reach, while Matlock Bath offers the Heights of Abraham, Gulliver's Kingdom and walks alongside the River Derwent. Whether the plan is walking Dovedale, cycling the Tissington Trail, spending a day at Alton Towers, exploring the Peak District or simply getting the whole family together, Stepping Stone gives groups something that is surprisingly difficult to find: proper space for 10 people, a table where everyone can eat together, two separate lounges, excellent entertainment, plenty of bathrooms and a genuinely well-equipped home to come back to. Guest access Guests have full private use of the house, garden and driveway throughout their stay. The only areas not available for guest access are a small number of service and storage areas used by our cleaners and property support team: • Cupboard under the stairs • Boiler cupboard on the landing • Garage These areas are kept locked or reserved for maintenance, cleaning supplies and property equipment. All other areas of the house are for guests to enjoy. Other things to note Stepping Stone is arranged over three floors, so guests should be comfortable using stairs. Bedrooms and bathrooms are located across the upper floors, with a WC conveniently located on the ground floor. The house is in a residential setting, so we ask guests to be considerate of our neighbours, particularly when using the garden in the evening. There is private driveway parking for up to four cars. Please use the property’s driveway rather than neighbouring parking spaces. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for families. The property is strictly non-smoking and we do not accept pets. Self check-in is provided using an access code, so there is no need to arrange a specific meeting time for arrival. A small number of service and storage areas, including the garage, under-stairs cupboard and boiler cupboard, are reserved for cleaning, maintenance and property support and are not available for guest use.
