Art, culture and nature in Fiskars, comes with cat

A traditional-style wooden house in Fiskars design village. The house is warm and cosy throughout winter and a very short walk from the village centre with its beautiful river path and art venues open all year round. Note: the short walk includes a steep hill. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, a bathroom on each floor, an electric sauna, a well-designed kitchen, a laundry, a gym and spacious living / dining with a grand piano. There is also a cat who has automatic feeding but likes to talk to you! The space This is a modern house built in the traditional style. It therefore has character but also great insulation and heating to keep you warm and cosy. Enter through the front door into a hallway with space to remove your shoes and coats. A second door leads to the spacious inner hallway with heated flooring and stairs up to the next floor. On your right is the kitchen, featuring a central island and a small sofa for social cooking. There is a large fridge-freezer, oven and electric cooker, Ninja multi-cooker / airfryer, blender, microwave, breadmaker kettle and barista-style espresso machine. Through to the open-plan living area you will find an antique grand piano dating from 1895 but still fully functioning. Next to that is a dining table with chairs for 6 but potentially room for 8 - this is a solid oak dining set from the studio of Charles Rennie Mackintosh in Glasgow. Further on is a cosy seating area with sofa and armchairs from 1959, reupholstered by the owner, and a classic Finnish ceramic wood burner. The seating area also has a ceiling-mounted projector and screen, with a top-end Sonos sound bar ideal for listening to orchestral music or for watching movies. Connected to the living area is a bonus room with windows all round, but still warm in winter thanks to triple-glazing and a heated floor. We use this as our study / work room and there are two desks with different types of chairs, as well as a whiteboard and printer. Continuing through the ground floor, at the back there is a small 'meditation room' which leads to the downstairs bathroom and sauna with room for 4 adults at a time. Beyond this is the home gym with a wall-mounted smart TV and basic exercise equipment. Finally, downstairs is the laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as hanging space to dry clothes. Heading up the stairs, there is a spacious hallway area with sofas to relax and read in the sunlight, with a door leading out to the south-facing balcony. Depending on the time of year and tree foliage, you can see views to the South and across the valley. The upstairs bathroom is simple with a shower, toilet and sink. To your right are two large double bedrooms: the first has two single beds that are normally pushed together to make a Queen-sized bed. The other has a small double futon bed. To your left is the master bedroom, which is double-width and includes a California Superking sized water bed with thermostatic control, and remote-controlled LED lights in the headboard. Guest access During your stay, the entire house is private to you. Other things to note We normally live there with the cat but rent it out when we're away. You will therefore find personal possessions stored in the house. The cat has an automatic feeder and water that should last the duration, and goes to the toilet outside. However, he does have buttons that allow him to 'talk' to you and might make other requests - if you love animals, you'll really enjoy interacting with and playing with him! He might even come up to sleep on the end of your bed at night.
