A classic Cotswold village home, tucked away in peaceful Over Norton on the edge of Chipping Norton. Four bedrooms sleep up to 7, with a spacious kitchen, comfortable living room and lovely enclosed garden and patio. Perfectly placed for Soho Farmhouse, Clarksons Farm, Daylesford, Estelle Manor and Blenheim Palace, as well as Wilderness and The Big Feastival. Walk through wooded footpaths into Chipping Norton for a movie or a pint, or simply relax in the private garden and enjoy the birdsong. The space Woodhaven Cottage is a spacious Cotswold stone family home in the peaceful hamlet of Over Norton, just outside Chipping Norton. Upstairs are four bedrooms sleeping up to seven guests: One king bedroom, two double bedrooms and one single, with a family bathroom and an ensuite to the main bedroom that can be shared with the rest of the house. Downstairs, the kitchen is very much the heart of the house, with a large central island, wooden worktops, range cooker and plenty of space for cooking and eating together. There’s also a comfortable separate living room with a fireplace and a downstairs WC. Outside is where Woodhaven really comes into its own. The enclosed rear garden is mostly laid to lawn, with mature shrubs, roses and established planting. A large patio next to the house catches the morning sun and becomes pleasantly shaded later in the day — perfect for breakfast, afternoon drinks or simply relaxing with a book. One of our favourite spaces is the large Sun Room, which we’ve turned into a rustic covered dining area. It’s a lovely semi-outdoor place filled with light for long lunches and family dinners, with the garden all around you. It can get chilly when the temperature drops (it does not have separate heating) but it stays warm after a sunny day and you’ll stay dry even when the Cotswold weather doesn’t cooperate. The house is tucked away from the main road, so there’s very little passing traffic or road noise. At the same time, you’re only moments from footpaths that lead into a network of countryside walks around Over Norton and towards Chipping Norton. It’s easy to set off from the house on foot, explore the surrounding countryside or wander into Chippy for a coffee, film or pint without needing the car. There’s gravel parking for up to three cars, as well as another small seating area at the front of the house. Woodhaven is a much-loved family home rather than a formal hotel or pristine show home. It’s comfortable, characterful and relaxed — somewhere for families and friends to cook together, eat around a big table, explore the Cotswolds and come home to the garden at the end of the day. Guest access Guests have private use of the house, garden, patio and Sun Room dining area throughout their stay, with parking for up to three cars on the gravel driveway at the front. The house is tucked away from the main road, with easy access to nearby footpaths and countryside walks. Other things to note Woodhaven is a much-loved family home rather than a purpose-built holiday property, so you’ll find plenty of character and the occasional quirk alongside everything you need for a comfortable stay. The sun room dining area is covered and dry but unheated, so it can be chilly on cooler evenings: bring a jumper and enjoy the atmosphere! We’re in a peaceful village setting and ask guests to be considerate of our neighbours, particularly when enjoying the garden in the evening. The house sleeps a maximum of 7 guests and is best suited to families and groups looking for a relaxed Cotswold stay rather than parties or events.
