Fall asleep to the sound of a rushing stream from this two bedroom, one bath cabin in the woods. Located in Wurtsboro, New York, just 4 miles off of Route 17 on a quiet dead-end road, this cabin is a great jumping off point for taking in the sights of the southern Catskills. This property includes two cabins. The other cabin is occupied by the owners. Route 17, 4mi; Wurtsboro Main Street, 2.5mi; Minnewaska Preserve (incl Sam's Point) 13mi; Kerhonkson/Accord area, 20mi; Bethel Woods, 25mi The space Whether you're cooking in the well equipped kitchen, playing a board game at the dining table (seats 5), or reading in the sunny front window, this cozy cabin will provide what you need for a quiet weekend away. High speed wi-fi makes it possible to work from the space, but you'll probably want to take in the nature and quiet instead. The space is a little quirky, befitting an older cabin (renovated in 2021) - for instance, one bedroom can be accessed either through the bathroom or from its own exterior door. Guest access Outside you’ll find a nice yard, a grill and patio table. Parking is in the circular dirt and gravel driveway. Our road has the feel of a rural mountain road, with some portions of gravel, and some paved portions. Other things to note Like many older homes, this house has some older single-paned windows and a stacked stone foundation. We have made many upgrades including new insulation in exterior and interior walls, and in the attic, a new storm door and of course the new heating systems. Winter guests may enjoy bringing slippers, house shoes, or some fluffy socks! Summer guests will find that the cabin typically stays comfortable even in warm weather as it’s heavily shaded. There are fans and one window unit a/c to help with cooling if needed. There is no central a/c. Bringing a dog? Be sure to tell us more about them when you request to book! There is no fenced area, so if your dog will not remain nearby we ask that you leash them outside as they must remain on our property and not be allowed to roam onto neighboring properties. Note that there are no pet supplies in the home. We also have a level 2 electric vehicle charger on the property. Please let us know if you need to use it, since the electric costs aren’t free and we can come to an agreed extra fee for charging. It will be way cheaper than public charging, we promise :)
