Rocking Chair Farmhouse

The Rocking Chair Farmhouse is situated in the charming rural hamlet of Rock Midsteads in North Northumberland. Being only 800 yards off the A1, just North of Alnwick, it provides the perfect location to many of the local attractions: Alnwick Castle (including Lilidorei), Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle and only a short drive to many of the beautiful Northumbrian beaches. The accommodation is comprised of two double bedrooms, bathroom, sitting room and kitchenette. Dogs are welcome too! The space The Rocking Chair farmhouse is part of the Rocking Horse Courtyard and Café. The bedroom suite is located on the first floor of the old estate farmhouse. Guests have access via the farmhouse entrance. This entrance is also used for access to the dining room during Café opening hours, however, the stairs to the accommodation are gated off for your privacy and are not accessed by staff or Café customers . All rooms are lockable. The accommodation consists of 2 double bedrooms (a third is available by separate request), with stunning views across the Northumberland countryside. There is a cosy living room with a TV (and games) and a small kitchenette containing a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing up facilities. The large bathroom has a bath, overhead shower, toilet and a sink. Freshly washed bath and hand towels are provided for all of our guests, along with fresh milk for the tea and coffee available in the kitchen. Guests are welcome to bring their four-legged members of their family to stay too (at no extra cost)! The Rocking Horse Café is quaint and homely. It is open 7 days a week from the hours of 10am - 4 pm (winter) and 10am - 5pm (summer). Guests are welcome to eat in the Café, dining room or the snug, or just pop in for coffee and delicious homemade cake! Guest access Guests have access via the farmhouse entrance. This entrance is also used for access to the dining room during Café opening hours, (Winter 10am - 4pm, Summer 10am - 5pm), however, the stairs to the accommodation are gated off for your privacy and are not accessed by staff or Café customers . All rooms are lockable. During your stay Whilst there is no one living in the farmhouse, Andrew lives only 100 yards away and there is always plenty of staff around during cafe opening hours (10am-5pm). The 'Rocky' has an amazing team who provide a friendly, welcoming and homely atmosphere. The Rocky is quite unique and definitely has a "home from home" feel to it. Sam and Rocky, our border collies are always there to meet and greet our two and four legged guests, with their tails wagging.
