Stables Cottage, Eskdalemuir - a peaceful place

Stables Cottage is a comfortable dog and child friendly home for up to 6 people, with two double bedrooms and a sofa-bed. The well-appointed kitchen can seat six, while the living room has two sofas in front of the multi-fuel stove. There is an enclosed private garden behind the cottage, with swings and a burn that runs through the woods across the courtyard. Deer, red squirrels, owls, badgers and hares live nearby, while the surrounding countryside is spectacular for walks and cycling. The space The kitchen has a fridge, electric cooker, toaster, kettle, washing machine/dryer, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery for six. Wifi is super fast fibre, smart TV and books are all available. There is full oil-fired central heating that keeps the cottage snug, even in the depths of winter, and the wood burning stove provides a welcoming warm centrepiece to the living room. Sustainably sourced local logs are provided free of charge. The bathroom - with bath and electric shower - double bedroom, kitchen and living room are all on the ground floor, with a lobby for boots and coats by the front door and access to the garden from the kitchen back door. Upstairs, the king-size double bed is in a bright, airy bedroom that overlooks the private garden. There is a travel cot available if requested in advance but please bring your own baby sheets and covers. Bikes can be stored under cover beside the cottage, and parking is easy in the courtyard. Guest access Entire cottage and garden. Parking in the courtyard outside the cottage. Other things to note There is a Shepherd's Hut with its own enclosed private garden also available to book on airbnb for two guests further up the track, 200m away. The cottage has fitted stair gates top and bottom of the stairs but they are quite steep so guests should make their own judgement on suitability for very young children. We can supply a fireguard if requested in advance but do not have a highchair. Little ones are very welcome!
