Copperleigh Trout Cottages - Lodge (Self Catering)

Copperleigh Trout Lodge is a double story self-catering unit built on the edge of the 10ha trout stocked Mavela Dam. Our sheep, goat & cattle farm is located in the Dargle on route 3 of the popular Midlands Meander which has many activities closeby. 1h30min from Durban, 30mins from Howick. A quiet place for families & friends to relax and catch up, enjoy fly fishing, bird watch or hike up iNhlosane mountain which is just a 3km drive away. The outdoor Wood Fired Hot Tub is a firm favourite! The space It is a two story house located on Copperleigh Farm. The open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room are located on the ground floor along with the garage and guest toilet. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (2 have queen size beds and the loft room is perfect for 4 children as it has a bunk bed and a queen size bed ); two bathrooms which each feature a shower & toilet. Kids love the variety of farm animals, there's a large garden to play in, a 3 seater fishing kayak to use free of charge . Indoor entertainment includes Smart TV with Netflix & Amazon Prime, free WiFi, boardgames, toys, books and magazines to read. Guest access Private access road to the Lodge. Free access to the trout stocked Mavela Dam, No Additional Rod or Catch fees if using your own fly fishing equipment to fly fish. Large lawn for children to play in and a beautiful garden to enjoy. There is a stream which runs along the edge of the garden and into the dam. If swimming in the dam the use of life jackets are encouraged. *Please bring your own swimming towels for use at the dam or hot tub as they are not provided. There are about 3.5km of well maintained short walks you can take on the farm. The sheep & goats can be seen going out to pasture at 07h30 in the morning and returning in the afternoon for feeding time, usually at 16h00. There are also other farmyard animals to see such as chickens, ducks and guinea pigs. Other things to note * Please Take Note: The first 1-4 guests are charged a flat rate to stay at the Lodge, thereafter, each additional guest is charged up to the maximum of 9. * Check-In: From 14h00. * Check-Out: 10h00. Occasionally we can accommodate an early check in or a late check out, please contact management to confirm. *The outdoor Wood Fired Hot Tub has an additional fee should you like to make use of it during your stay. It includes 1 large bag of firewood. We can also get the fire started for you on the day of check in as it takes about 6+ hours to get up to temperature. * Pet Rules: We do allow pets (small-med sized well behaved dogs only). Must be pre-arranged & a pet levy per pet per night applies, maximum 3. The Lodge is not completely fenced. Rabies vaccinations must be current. * No Smoking Allowed inside the unit. * Please text or call Ashley with an ETA of your arrival. We want to be able to meet you and provide a short walk-through of the unit with the primary occupant.
