Penrhyd Hall - Historic Manor in Snowdonia

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway.Beautiful old quirky Manor House, with huge walled garden, orchard and hot tub. There is a gorgeous pergola for outdoor dining. Very private and peaceful but also close to Conwy and Snowdonia. The views are stunning, especially whilst relaxing in the hot tub after a day exploring North Wales . The space This gorgeous old Manor House has so many original features but also all the modern amenities you will need. There are four bedrooms that sleep eight people. There are two large King size bedrooms, one with a four poster, and the other two bedrooms have two single beds in each room. They are all super comfortable and have traditional Welsh tapestry blankets to keep you cosy. We can also provide a cot for a small extra charge. There are two bathrooms , one with a freestanding cast iron bath and the other with a large shower enclosure and power shower . Downstairs the kitchen has an electric range and a marble topped island, the long kitchen table comfortably sits eight, and the antique welsh dresser holds all your crockery and glasses. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a dishwasher. The second kitchen has a 1940's oil aga which is switched on in the winter and great for slow cooking, above it is a traditional drying pulley, there is also a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. A small bar area leads you into the living room. Snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove to watch TV or play games. Netflix is provided. Next door the snug is great for kids, it also has a tv, or just for a quiet space to hide with a book and relax. Outside you have private use of a acre of walled garden, lawn, orchard and hot tub. Sitting in the hot tub watching the sun setting over the mountains, glass of wine and surrounded by mint, lavender and bay is just perfect! In the summer you can pick berries, figs, and apples. The fields surrounding the house are also great for blackberrying and gathering mushrooms, please check first with me that no animals are in the fields. We do allow you to bring a pet for a small extra charge. The Tal y Cafn pub only 5 minutes walk away and the Hayloft Restaurant is a 15 minute walk.and next door to the Welsh Food centre, an amazing farm shop and which also has a cafe if you fancy a walk down for brunch. The Tal y Cafn railway station is a 5 minute walk Bodnant gardens are 5 minute drive from the house. Conwy castle and town is 4 miles away. We are perfectly placed as a base to explore North Wales. Snowdonia and the Carneddau mountains are just spectacular, with 823 miles of mountain, moorland, lakes, forest and coastline. There a walks for beginners/family or serious remote walks for the most adventurous. There are some beautiful wild swimming lakes and if you are very lucky you will see some ancient feral Carneddau ponies on the tops. There are plenty of adventure activities nearby from Zip world, Bounce Below, Forest Coaster, gorge walking, slate caverns, and coastering/cliff jumping and scrambling A must visit has to be at least one castle! Conwy is the closest, built in 1283 , you can walk around the medieval town walls before having an ice cream down by the harbour. Food Delivery - Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado will all deliver to the house. At Christmas and New Year the house looks extra special with a real tree, lights and greenery.
