Grandpa’s Cabin at Heidenreich Hollow offers exclusive lodging on our hilly 5 acre wooded property. We offer a peaceful getaway from life while being right in the middle of both Indianapolis and Bloomington! Our quiet rustic cabin has a loft bedroom with stair access that includes a King size bed, 2 twin beds and an air mattress. Ft. rustic cabin with Electric furnace heating and Mini Split System Air Conditioning. Our cabin is not Handicap Accessible. The lower level living space has cathedral ceilings and wood floors which provides a quiet, spacious setting for taking a nap on the couch or watching our large Roku TV. Please note: you must login to each of your streaming services to watch. The streaming speed is slow at times... We have a DVD player or you may bring your own games for additional entertainment. Open up to the outside with (2) patio doors to let the fresh woodland air in. Endless opportunities to look through many large open windows for relaxing views of the woods. Look deep in the woods and you can see our Tree House in progress! A large spacious bathroom with shower, sink, modern flushing toilet (no flushing paper allowed due to septic system). The bathroom adjoins the kitchen and living room. We provide 1 set of towels (body towel, hand towel and a wash cloth) per person in the booking. We also provide toilet paper (deposit in trash only), shampoo/conditioner and a few extras if you forget something. A large loft overlooks the living room and kitchen and boasts a king size bed and 2 twin beds that provide a very peaceful setting for viewing the outdoors over the cedar balcony. We also have a queen size airbed air for extra guests. (All linens are provided) The loft is carpeted and has lots of floor space. We have a large dresser and a sitting area as well. The loft has a 27" flat screen Roku TV for relaxing at bedtime. The kitchenette is equipped with dishes/utensils for a quick meal. Enjoy the Keurig coffee maker or the old fashioned coffee maker, it’s your choice! We have a few varieties of coffee and tea but feel free to bring your favorite flavors to sip on while you enjoy the views. We have a mini fridge/freezer to cool your leftovers and beverages. A small microwave and a toaster oven are provided for cooking a small meal. We provide a propane Blackstone griddle for outdoor cooking. *We do not provide an indoor full size oven with cooktop* *The two burner cooktop shown in the picture is no longer available. * Shared Space: Timber Frame Outdoor Structure with Swings and Slides. Private Spaces/Amenities exclusive to Grandpas Cabin: 1. Dual Outdoor Tubs overlooking the ravine with endless hot water. 2. Private Back Patio Area with Firepit and Picnic Table We guarantee these amenities will provide a unique memorable experience if you are willing to step out your normal and try them! In an effort to conserve firewood this year and due to the high cost and availability, we can only offer guests one rack of firewood during your stay. Please see the picture of provided wood rack in listing. Any additional need for wood will require you to bring your own, only from a US certified provider please. Guest access If you enjoy golfing, the beautiful Martinsville Golf Club is open to the public and is only a short distance from the cabin. The roads to and from Heidenreich Hollow are relatively quiet, well paved and incredibly beautiful. Easy bike rides through the valley stretch for joyous miles! One does not have to go far, however, to find some rather serious hills. County and state roads can be dangerous, and bike helmets are recommended. Whether you enjoy walking or cycling, the roads and the groomed trails trails through the woods around Heidenreich Hollow provide an endless opportunity for a workout. Heidenreich Hollow woods also offer a rustic tent camping area located in the valley of the property. It is very private and can accommodate large groups or just your simple overnight camping experience. Other things to note 1. We accept service animals and emotional support animals, please look up the Airbnb Accessibility policy to get yourself familiar! When our goats are not on the property there is a fenced in pen for your pet! Please just ask us if you have any questions! 2. On any given visit you may hear an owl hooting, coyotes howling, bats flying or mosquitoes buzzing in your ear. Occasionally nature will wonder inside with you i.e. leaves, spiders, tics, ants, mice etc. 3. We try to keep our grounds in a semi-natural state of appearance. The grass may be overgrown in places and is not manicured like on a city lot but it’s lovely to walk through barefoot! (This is all a part of living with nature!) 4. Eliminating everything that people might consider a pest or not as clean as other places they have stayed in the past would diminish the experience we offer here such as offering a stay free from heavy chemicals such as extermination. 5. We try hard at every cleaning to limit the undesirables and if you have any problems during your stay we will be sure to take care of any situation you may have. 6. We understand this rustic environment is not for everyone so we ask that you please consider all of the above prior to booking your stay. 7. Additionally, if you intend to rely heavily on internet use during your stay there are a few options in town that you can connect to for a strong signal. Otherwise listed below are our internet speeds on a good day, please verify your software requirements prior to booking: Download = 20mbps 8. Please do not flush anything down the toilet other than organic waste. Everything else needs to be put into the trash can located next to the toilet. Your cooperation is required on this matter. If you do not follow these rules you can expect a clogged toilet during your stay!
