This may not be the best room for you if you need to sleep during day and/or are particularly sensitive to noise. POSSIBLE NOISE: This room is behind a cinder block wall that separates it from the original house, but it does not completely muffle all noise. The laundry and bathroom behind that wall outside your room may be in use intermittently during daytime hours and you may hear running water, washer and dryer; there will some muffled noise from movement in the floor above. BATHROOMS: You will share a recently remodeled full bathroom with 1-2 other guests. A half-bathroom one floor up is also available to you should the full bath be in use. FOOD STORAGE: A quarter-size fridge and shelves are provided for your personal food storage. Microwave and toaster oven are just outside the room. You can eat in your room or use the dining nook area one floor up. COMFORTABLE SLEEP: The queen mattress has a very comfy Ikea TANANGER memory foam topper, appointed with 100% cotton sheets, down/feather-filled duvet and pillows (4). Bed linens and towels are carefully laundered in warm/hot water with soap nuts and baking soda, without synthetic fragrances. We use organic cotton dryer balls to soften fabrics in the dryer. Brita filtered water is available for drinking in the kitchen. We use only ecologically intelligent cleaning, laundry and personal toiletries, avoiding synthetic fragrances and harsh chemicals. Essential oils and Japanese stick incense are sometimes diffused. We recycle, and expect that you will try to do so as well, while you are with us, although this is not required. FAMILY FEEL: This is a single family home, where I live with my adult son. It feels like a home, and operates like a hostel. Each person is responsible for cleaning up after themselves and being considerate of other denizens of the house. NATURAL SURROUNDINGS: I am slowly renovating my home and landscape. It is visited by many species of wild birds, which can be spotted through the windows, at my feeders and in nearby trees and shrubs. Forty-five species spotted here, on my last count. I love hearing what you like about my place, and also appreciate your suggestions for improving my Airbnb. I am continually looking for ways to make guest stays more comfortable, convenient, valuable and enjoyable. Other things to note OTHER GUESTS IN HOME You may encounter other guests in my home, as I offer 3 other Airbnb rooms here. The rooms are spread over 3 floors. CLEANLINESS Each person is responsible for cleaning up after themselves and contributing to the quality of a shared home experience. Cleaning materials are available in bathrooms, kitchen and other places. ACCESS While the full bath for this room has a generously-sized tiled shower, there is but an 18" clearance between the sink cabinet and shower stall. This may not be a comfortable clearance for larger folks.
