Maple Croft — a spacious Somerset country retreat for up to 12 guests Welcome to Maple Croft, a beautiful detached Hamstone property nestled in the peaceful village of Lufton, just outside Yeovil in Somerset. Ideally situated for exploring the very best of the West Country, Maple Croft offers a relaxing countryside retreat within easy reach of some of Somerset’s most celebrated historic houses, including Brympton House, Montacute House and Tintinhull House. The space With six bedrooms sleeping up to 12 guests, generous living spaces and a private garden, the house is ideally suited to families, friends and multi-generational groups looking for somewhere special to spend time together. Explore scenic walking trails right from your doorstep at Montacute House and nearby Ham Hill Country Park. Take a short 45-minute drive to the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast with its charming beachside cafés, or visit the historic city of Bath just an hour away. The house combines character and space with plenty to keep everyone entertained. There is a full-size snooker room, a dedicated playroom for younger guests, a comfortable lounge and a separate study for anyone who needs a quieter space to work or relax. A house made for getting together The large kitchen is at the heart of the house, with dining space for up to 12 guests. From here, the adjoining orangery looks out over the garden, creating a lovely light-filled space for breakfast, relaxed lunches or evening drinks. There is plenty of room for everyone to come together, while the different living areas mean that guests can also find a quieter corner when they want some time to themselves. Six flexible bedrooms The house has six double bedrooms and sleeps up to 12 guests. Three bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms, with a further main bathroom serving the rest of the house. Two of the bedrooms can be arranged as either doubles or twin rooms, giving you flexibility depending on the make-up of your group. Plenty to do without leaving the house The full-size snooker room is a real feature of the property and provides a great space for friendly competitions and relaxed evenings. Younger guests can enjoy the dedicated playroom, while the private garden provides plenty of outdoor space to explore and relax. We do have a travel cot but guests will need to bring their own bedding for this. For those who need to keep on top of work during their stay, there is also a separate study. Outside The house has a private garden with seating for 12 and an outside BBQ. There is parking for up to six cars. An EV charger is also available for guests travelling with an electric vehicle ( charges apply ). Exploring Somerset Lufton provides a convenient base for exploring Somerset and the surrounding countryside, while Yeovil is close by for shops, restaurants and everyday amenities. Whether you’re planning a family get-together, a special celebration, a weekend with friends or simply a relaxing Somerset break, The Hamstone House gives your group the space to enjoy being together. Accessibility: The house is three storeys and is not suitable for those using wheelchairs or for those who find gravel and/or stairs challenging. The patio and outside pathways are uneven and can be slippery when wet. Guest access The whole property will be accessible except for the double Garage.
