Willow - Quirky, Static Campervan in the Cotswolds

A memorable place that's anything but ordinary. Lovingly designed and hand-built by artist Samantha Dadd and her son, Willow is a beautifully crafted off-grid glamping van, designed as a cosy haven and almost like a piece of environmental artwork. Sleep in a fixed king-size bed with a luxurious 10-inch mattress, enjoy generous 6ft 6in (1.98m) standing height and wake to leafy views of an organic cottage garden. A peaceful, stylish retreat at the foot of Bredon Hill. The space "Willow' is a static high top, medium wheel base , Merc Sprinter that has been converted into a comfortable, stylish and quirky place to sleep. Nestled at the base of Bredon Hill, it is just one minutes walk from The Yew Tree Inn, a lovely old Cotswolds Pub, serving real ale and great food (100m away). Access is via pathways through a permaculture, companion planted, organic, country cottage vegetable garden which serves just the van and one other Cotswold cottage. You enter the space through the sliding side door which is fully lockable from both the inside and the outside. It is located in the shade, on the driveway of my gallery studio, and opens up into the vegetable garden. Features include: A fixed very comfortable king Size bed. High quality 10 inch mattress on a solid wooden sprung base. My priority was to provide a really good bed for an excellent nights sleep. Professionally lined and insulated for 4 season comfort. Parked on the shaded side of a house under trees so it stays cool. Full set of removable, insulated, black out blinds for complete privacy, insulation and to block light whilst sleeping. Two big solar panels on the roof to power: Lighting (spot, ceiling and fairy lights around the bed) Pull out Fridge 14 volt slow boil kettle (tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk provided) laptop and phone charging point A large store of bottled water for drinking and washing Lovely clean linen and all bedding provided (pillows, base sheet and duvet) - made up for you for when you arrive. Lots of cushions and throws to make yourself comfortable High quality two way fan in the roof. Camping table and table cloth as seen in the photos Front passenger seats swivelled round to create a bench seat and more living space. This has been upholstered with extra padding to make it extra comfortable and covered with woven 100% cotton fabric. Storage above the cabin, under the bed and cupboards and draws in the wooden sideboard. Hooks for coats and hats etc. Full length mirror Clothes rail and hangers in what would normally be the drivers area. Magnifying mirror for make up and shaving Ceramic wash bowl, home made toiletries with wonderful smelling, organic essential oils, clean towels and flannel provided. Jugs and ample refill bottles of water are provided but please note that there is no water plumbed in. Washing up bowl, washing up liquid and collection of crockery, cutlery, mugs, pots, pans cooking tools, and glasses, tea towels etc. Please note however that there is no inside cooking facilities but a one ring camping stove is provided to use in the outside area and a small BBQ. Outside, a few steps from the side door is a toilet tent with standard camping loo lit with fairy lights. Please note that this is an off-grid van with no kitchen or bathroom but offers a truly unique 'glamping' experience. During your stay guests have exclusive use of the picnic area with table and chairs in the centre of a ring of seasonal flowers. Conderton is Nestled at the base of Bredon Hill with dozens of stunning walks starting from the door of the van. We have also made a bespoke guide book with maps and all the information you need to make the most of your stay - from wifi code, your nearest shops, where to eat through to tours of the Cotswolds, whats on and places to visit. All in all its a great place to stop over to break a long journey, to use whilst visiting friends or as a touring base to get to know the area. If you wish to explore the local area the cottage is also only 15 mins drive from historic Tewkesbury, Evesham or Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle, 25 mins from Cheltenham, Kingsholm, Gloucester, Worcester, and Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon, 10 mins from home of the Gold Cup, Prestbury Racecourse, and dozens of delightful Cotswold villages. There is certainly plenty to do for those who want to get out and about. You are free to come and go as you please. A key is provided via a secure key safe beside the van, with the code supplied before arrival. On arrival Samantha will normally welcome you, show you where to park and explain how everything works in Willow, including the solar power, water and outdoor facilities.
