Eco Shepherd's Hut in Bodiam, East Sussex

Switch off in a beautiful, off-grid shepherd's hut, nestled in ancient woodland on our 200 acre family farm. Wander through orchards to Bodiam Castle, go paddle boarding minutes from your hut, hop on a steam train, tour local vineyards, drive to the beach, or relax by your campfire & enjoy the peaceful countryside. Enjoy an immersive experience, disconnected from the rigours of modern life. Your hut is cosy, comfortable & has solar lighting. Wifi & charging lockers are available in our cafe. The space Each hut can sleep up to five, which is great for families, but five adults might find it quite snug as it's one open-plan space! The table at one end converts into a double, and at the other end is a bunk with a single on the bottom and two singles on the top. The Wash Hut is shared between 4 huts and has 2 hot showers, 2 compost loos & a washing up area with hot water. Your hut is fully-equipped with linen, cooking & eating equipment for inside & out, a gas hob and gas heater, and a top of the range cool box and freezer blocks. Please bring your own towels. We're an eco site offering an immersive getaway from everyday life, so there's solar lighting but no electric sockets or wifi. Outside you have your own fire pit & seating area for alfresco dining, and can relax with no road noise and dark night skies. Bed linen provided: 2 pillows & cases per person a duvet & cover per bed a fitted sheet per bed bed. We do not provide towels. Guest access The huts are about a ten minute walk (2 min drive) from The Hub cafe where you check-in. Hut parking is in a separate area, a very short walk away from your hut. We’re in a fairly remote location and local public transport isn’t good and Uber doesn’t exist. If you’re looking to explore locally, or are arriving late, we recommend bringing your own transport. We have 8 shepherd’s huts at our farm in Bodiam. It’s a magical setting in unspoiled countryside, on the East Sussex / Kent border. You’ll find yourself surrounded by nature with room to roam and find secluded spots. Locally there’s plenty for history lovers, wine lovers and foodies, and a short drive away are beautiful beaches. For children our site offers the chance to explore and play, and the onsite wild swimming, paddle boarding, archery and axe throwing are a great hit with adults and children (book the last three separately). Other things to note We manage our site for wildlife so sadly we can't accommodate dogs.
