【Shizuoka】Renovated Machiya: Art & Pottery Bath

Description

A Historic Machiya, Reimagined for Modern Living TSUZUNA is a beautifully restored traditional Japanese machiya in Shizuoka, thoughtfully renovated in 2026 while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original house. The entire 120-square-meter house is exclusively yours, with a private garden, Japanese art, and a handcrafted Shigaraki-yaki pottery bath. It is a quiet place to slow down, relax, and experience a different rhythm of life. The space 🏡 A Historic Machiya, Renovated in 2026 Fully renovated in 2026, this historic machiya combines the character of traditional Japanese architecture with modern comfort. The entire house is exclusively yours. Accommodating up to 6 guests, it is ideal for families and friends. Free parking for one car is included. ✨ Highlights 🏡 A Traditional Machiya Carefully renovated to preserve its original character while offering the comforts of modern living. 🛁 A Shigaraki Ceramic Bath Relax in a handcrafted Shigaraki ceramic bathtub. Open the windows and enjoy views of the garden with the refreshing feel of an open-air bath. 🌿 A Tranquil Courtyard Garden At the heart of the house is a peaceful courtyard garden, whose changing light and seasonal beauty bring a quiet sense of nature to your stay. ✨ Modern Comforts High-speed Wi-Fi, underfloor heating, air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine, and a separate gas clothes dryer are provided for a comfortable stay. 🪷 A Touch of Japanese Culture 📚 Library Browse books about the Tokaido, Fukuroi-juku, and Japanese culture during your stay. 🪷 Buddhist Art The house features a small collection of Buddhist artworks cherished by the owner. Quietly integrated into the historic machiya, these works are more than decoration. They form part of the atmosphere of the house, inviting a quiet encounter with Japanese art and aesthetics. Unlike in a museum, the artworks can be experienced within a living space. We hope that spending time alongside them offers a glimpse into the Japanese appreciation of stillness, space, and quiet beauty. Please do not touch the artworks. 📍 Location & Access 🚶 A short walk from JR Fukuroi Station 🚃 About 4 minutes by train to Ecopa Stadium 🚗 Free parking for one car 🍽️ About a 10-minute walk to Sawayaka Fukuroi Main Store, a beloved local restaurant known for its charcoal-grilled hamburg steaks Guest access The entire house is exclusively yours during your stay, with no spaces shared with other guests. Enjoy the privacy and comfort of having the whole property to yourselves. Other things to note 🌙 As TSUZUNA is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, we kindly ask guests to keep noise to a minimum, both indoors and in the courtyard, after 9:00 PM. 🚭To help preserve this traditional wooden house and its artworks, smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the property, including the use of e-cigarettes and other electronic smoking devices. 🌿 We use traditional wooden doors and windows, and some areas do not have insect screens. As a result, insects may occasionally enter the house depending on the season and weather. Thank you for your understanding. Registration Details Hotels and Inns Business Act | 静岡県西部保健所 | 西保衛第70-3号
