Special stays with urban allure in a village atmosphere

Hubbel is the name of this double cube house, given by the architectural studio Floris van der Klei who won the Building Holland Award 2010 for the design and execution. And for that reason, it was allowed to stand in Amsterdam's Vondelpark for six months. Now this Hubbel is in our backyard. Now built with a second cube attached. Everything that belongs in a house is present! This cottage ('on' De Wetering) is located in Oude Wetering, a village between Leiden and Amsterdam. The space This cottage is a special project, I would say handmade and with love. It is a modern house, everything you need to live comfortably is present. Wonderfully compact but without loss of luxury, comfort AND beauty! The cottage feels very spacious because of the 3 meters height and also because of the large, high windows. Maybe a little exaggerated but very luxurious, it has a glass sliding door and a glass high front door. From the sliding door, you come to a lovely terrace where you can enjoy your morning cappuccino. Please note that this cottage is in our large backyard, at a great distance from our own house. It is important to mention that there is also a special residential caravan in the back of the garden that we also rent out (see our Airbnb site), so you have neighbors across the street (which will not bother you). Back to the inside of the cottage. There is a sofa bed. A kitchen unit, fridge, microwave, Nespresso machine, milk frother and electric hob and everything you need to cook well. I am proud of the shower annex toilet, it is small but new, clean and beautiful in its Italian way. Under the double loft bed (where you can really sit), there is a spacious desktop and on both sides plenty of closet space for your clothes and your belongings such as suitcases and or backpack. For the winter, there is an infrared heater and an art deco wood-burning stove. The stairs to the bed are made up of blocks that also serve as storage space for everything. The garden is spacious, and I love gardening and am gardening a lot in the garden in nice weather. In consultation with each other, you can certainly use the garden in summer. Plenty of room to sit outside. Guest access The bump is completely on its own and has its own front door. Through our side gate, you walk to the backyard.
