Situated conveniently alongside some of the delightful places that the Peak District has to offer. What used to be an old working farm has now been turned into its own little holiday village. Guests will enjoy the home comforts of an open plan ground floor, which consists of kitchen, dining and living area, whilst upstairs homes two bedrooms which can both be made with king or twin beds and a separate family bathroom. Within 10 minutes walking distance of the beautiful Carsington Water. The space Originally one of the barns when Knockerdown was a working farm, this cosy cottage has some lovely original features, including a feature stone wall, along with beautiful beams. Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining The lounge area has a TV and soft seating for four guests. Dining area with table and seating for 4. The kitchen is well equipped for all your self catering needs and includes a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, glasses and utensils. Both bedrooms have ample drawer and hanging space. Bedroom 1 – king or twin beds & TV. Bedroom 2 – king or twin beds The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over, WC and a wash basin. One hairdryer is provided. A highchair (without straps) is available upon request. Outside seating. The rural cottage is set in the picturesque countryside, making it unique to walkers, cyclists & families, letting you enjoy the Peak District at its very best. After your busy day out and about, you can then relax in your cosy cottage. Keep the little ones happy with a swim in the communal heated swimming pool or outdoor play area. Grab a glass of wine and get the BBQ ready and sit on your own picnic bench outside whilst listening and watching the wildlife in the courtyard. Peak District at it's very BEST! Guest access Please note that the following can change at any time. Guests can enjoy our communal heated indoor swimming pool, which is open all year round with the exception of early closure on Christmas & New Year's Eve and CLOSED on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The swimming pool opens at 8.30 am and closes at 6.30 pm. (Early Closure on Christmas & New Years Eve). Unisex changing rooms with showers and toilets are available opposite the entrance to the swimming pool. It measures 34ft long x 15ft wide x 3ft to 5ft 9in deep and is kept at a pleasant 30 degrees, making it perfect for budding water babies and very appealing for grown-ups too. Easy access with walk in steps in the shallow area of the pool. Our children’s play area has slides, swings and a hobbit house. The communal games room has a table tennis table, pool table and football table (£1 coin required for pool & football table). Ample outdoor space for you to enjoy, so why not bring along your own outdoor games to use on our large meadow, which has beautiful views across the valley. We also have plenty of walks and cycle routes around us, so come and enjoy the beautiful Peak District. Cycling Facilities Bring your bikes to Knockerdown, safe in the knowledge that we have secure undercover cycle racks and a bike maintenance unit. Other things to note Key collection is from a key box next to your cottage door. The code will be sent to you a few days prior to arrival. Access to the swimming pool is open from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm each day apart from Boxing, Christmas and New Year's Day, when it is closed. Early closure on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times, in both the swimming pool and the games room. No cots are available, so please bring your own along with cot bedding. A highchair (without straps) is available on request, so if required, please advise when booking. There is a laundry room which consists of two washing machines & a tumble dryer (charges apply, £1 coins required). This cottage is part of a complex with 15 other cottages; the pool, games room and outdoor children's play area are all shared facilities. Please note that we are also a wedding venue, so a wedding may be taking place during your stay. Please contact us prior to booking if you wish to know if any event is taking place on the dates you are considering to book. Please note we do not supply any condiments such as oil, kitchen roll, foil, etc. or toiletries; you will need to bring your own.
