4 bedroom cottage within a woodland village!

Description

Memories are to be made at this unique & family-friendly home full of storybook charm! A beautiful courtyard, woodland garden & amazing views of the forestry. The interior is stuffed full of artistic rustic charm, creature comforts, large eat in kitchen with vaulted ceiling, 4 comfortable bedrooms & 2 stunning bathrooms. Walk straight out of the front (& back) door into glorious woodland, some of the best walking & cycling in SE England! A few steps from the local pub & village shop. Parking. The space Coldharbour village is breathtakingly beautiful and there is a lot to explore and enjoy! The drive into the village is through the ethereal woodland and sunken lanes into the friendly village of Coldharbour - arguably the best walking, cycling & views in SE England. The house has 4 gorgeous bedrooms, each with breathtaking views. Two king size beds, zip and link twin beds (which can be arranged as a king), and a single bed made from ash timber from our farm! Each bedroom has lots of storage, character & charm. There is a great sized family bathroom with a large shower enclosure, free standing bath and a huge oak vanity unit. As you submerge into this bath you are rewarded with some of the finest bathtub-views! The second shower room on the top floor is small and perfectly formed and recently refitted. The kitchen is fully equipped (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler, larder, microwave, coffee machine, TV, speaker etc) with a huge oak dining table, vaulted ceiling, plants dangling from the beams, flagstone floor, exposed stone walls and a snug area. Garden doors open out onto the courtyard garden where there is another large oak table with a parasol for shade, a BBQ, log store and lots of potted trees! The courtyard opens up into a terraced woodland garden, with deep flower beds, corners to explore, fruit trees, a Victorian greenhouse and at the top of the garden there is a summer house and terrace with yet more amazing views and one of the last places in the village to enjoy the sunset until it sets over the trees beyond. There are lounging chairs for a perfect sun downer and a gate that literally leads straight into woodland and the Anstiebury Bronze Age settlement. The living room is snug and cosy with a large log burner (ample supply of seasoned timber in the log store), smart TV, speaker, pine floor, sumptuous velvet sofas, handmade window shutters and an eclectic choice of art! On the ground floor there is also a study (for quiet moments of reflection and possibly some work), a utility (washing machine and clothes airer), boot room (so useful!) and WC. The garden is dog proof (unless your dog is very small) and there is a gate to close off the garden from the courtyard to contain children & dogs. There is also side access for bikes and muddy dogs - with a locked gate. Parking spot for one / two cars. A beautiful cottage for family memories or a trip away with friends. The friendly village pub, The Plough, is literally 30 steps away for meals and drinks, and there is also a small village shop attached. The hills and woodland are literally straight out the front door! The village has a cricket club and matches can be enjoyed by the enthusiast. We ask guests to enjoy themselves (we did!), enjoy the woodland, the village and the pub. It would be great if you could take care of our cottage & its contents (it was our family home for 14 glorious years)! Please remember this is not a remote secluded location, it is located in the middle of a small close-knit village with neighbours on both sides. There are a wonderful selection of nearby pubs and restaurants (there is a guide book in the house): The Parrot (THE place for sundowners), Beaverbrook (THE place for deep pockets!), The Scarlett Arms (a true locals pub), Willam IV (beautiful pub in a gorgeous setting), Hannah Peschar Gallery (amazing vibes, art & gardens), Tanhurst Estate Vineyard (an emerging local vineyard), Sorrel (Michelin starred restaurant in Dorking) and the very nearby The Plough pub (35 steps away) and amazing woodland walks up to Leith Hill Tower, the waterfall and true escapism. A gem! Available for photoshoots. Enjoy! Guest access The entire house and garden is available for your sole use, relaxation and enjoyment. We recommend you also explore the woodland, find the waterfall, climb up to Leith Hill Tower and use and support the local pub(s). Private parking for one / two cars. Other things to note Coldharbour is a very friendly, unique and special village. Please bear in mind our neighbours - thank you. If you are bringing a dog, please do not leave it alone in the house. If you would like details of a local dog sitter / walker please contact me with plenty of notice. All nearby pubs are dog friendly, even in the restaurants areas. If you are bringing your baby, please let me know if you require a travel cot, high chair or stair gate with plenty of notice. Thank you!
