Whilst the property is in easy reach of Newcastle city centre, Bill Quay has an urban green space, wildlife corridor and from the door, guests can walk/jog/cycle along the banks of the Tyne. ( 5km to the marina and back!) As well as a marvellous night out on the Quayside, Newcastle-Gateshead offers fabulous Art, Theatre and fine dining too. Local Tyneside beaches, South Shields, Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay can all be reached by metro. The stunning Northumbrian coast and castles are a short car journey away, as are the wonderful Alnwick Gardens. Walkers can enjoy the wilderness of county Durham; the Tyne Valley including world heritage site Hadrian's wall; and the Cheviot hills, all within easy reach by car. National Trust properties in the area include Souter lighthouse, Gibside, Wallington and Cragside. Bird lovers can enjoy a day trip to the Farne Islands or Washington Wildfowl and Wetland Centre is only ten minutes away.
