Stellar Violets - Trolleybus 54
Stellar Violets - Trolleybus 54
Description
Once an industrial relic, this 1950s Western Australian heritage icon was lovingly transformed by a French and Australian co-creative team. Emerging from the forests and gardens of Stellar Violets, “le bus” is a wondrous, light-filled sanctuary. Sink into the king cloud bed with its sumptuous, locally made velvet curtains, or unwind in the plush dining space with a retro board game. When relaxation calls, step into the private bathhouse for a warm soak after exploring Bibbulmun Country. The space Neighbouring our cottage and its two studios, trolleybus 54 invites you into a soulful world infused with care and craftsmanship. Stepping up two short stairs into the bus, you’ll find a surprisingly spacious interior opening to sweeping views across open fields to the dawn light. Details reflect thoughtful design, from tactile stainless steel switches and dimmable ceiling lights, to focused reading lamps in both the dining zone and bedside, plus rechargeable task lighting in the kitchen (charging cables stashed in your guest portfolio if needed). While our surrounding hedges and gardens are establishing to create more outdoor privacy, the area around the bus is all yours. As the main driveway is close, you will see very occasional cars pass by, but inside, beautiful curtains wrap the space in a private, cozy sanctuary. In the evening, carry the lantern to your private bathhouse for a soak in the tub with house bath salts and lavender, or light the cast-iron chiminea beside the bus (firewood supplied in cooler months). It’s a slow stay by design, so while we provide a radio with bluetooth speaker, you’ll need to bring your own devices and hotspot for Wi-Fi if needed. Guest access You have exclusive, private access to Trolleybus 54 (entered via two short steps), its adjacent private bathhouse, and the immediate garden area surrounding the bus. Driveway & Setting: Free parking is available on-site near the bus. Please note that the main property driveway passes directly alongside the bus area, so you will occasionally see or hear cars coming and going. Inside, full curtains provide total privacy, and our growing hedges are designed to shield the outdoor space over time while preserving open field vistas. Site Safety & Boundaries: As the broader property at Stellar Violets is currently under active development, access is limited strictly to your bus, bathhouse, and immediate garden area for your safety. We look forward to sharing more of Stellar Violets in seasons to come as we build capacity! EV Charging: Slow charging is available via an outdoor 15A power point located under a metal flap low down to the left of the bus entrance. Because of the short distance to the parking spot, you will need to bring your own 15A extension cord. We ask for a simple $10 contribution per charge left in the bus. Other things to note Our wondrous trolleybus 54 offers a slow, reflective stay between forest and orchards, located 6km from Manjimup town centre. Highlights include evocative garden views, birdsong (wrens, robins, finches, honeyeaters, magpies, whistling kites, djitty-djitty and more), outdoor fireplace (winter months only) and a warm soak in your private bathhouse. Your stay directly helps restore this land. Climate Comfort: The bus is equipped with reverse-cycle air conditioning (heating and cooling) for year-round comfort, along with hot water bottles for cozy winter nights. Please note: heating/cooling is in the bus only, not the adjacent bathhouse. A Mindful, Quiet Stay: Stellar Violets is dedicated to rest, regeneration, and the sounds of nature. While a radio with bluetooth speaker is provided inside the bus, we kindly ask that all music remains indoors. In the evening or when outdoors by the chiminea, keeping voices low ensures both you and our neighbouring guests at the cottage can enjoy the night sky, quiet countryside, and local birdsong. Commercial Shoots & Events: An overnight booking does not include permission for commercial photography, content creation, or film shoots. To rightly acknowledge the craftsmanship, project artists, and charitable foundation behind this project, separate location fees apply. Kindly touch base with our team in advance to discuss your plans and arrange a tailored package. Child & Pet Policy: Not suitable for children or pets due to the delicate vintage nature of the bus furnishings, retro accents, and the safety hazards of our broader site development. Pantry & Amenities: We stock a basic pantry including ground coffee beans with a plunger, milk, black and herbal teas, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Wi-Fi & Tech: As previously noted, a radio bluetooth speaker is provided for music. There is no built-in Wi-Fi or TV on purpose, so please bring your own hotspot and device if you need connectivity or want to stream a show. Guest Portfolio & Local Tips: Upon arrival, you’ll find a printed guest portfolio packed with local Manjimup tips, property guide, and helpful extras (like charging cords for the lantern and kitchen task lights). Stellar Violets has been featured in Green Magazine and Country Style. Perfect for those seeking a soulful, slow-living escape immersed in nature, heritage and earth regeneration.
