Mountain Getaway in the Clouds
Our newly constructed guesthouse was built specifically to accommodate travelers seeking a quiet retreat near Sequoia National Park. The place is strategically located 3 miles from The Park's main entrance and 20 miles to the entrance of Mineral King--a standalone section of The Park with excellent hiking trails. We are nestled up on a hill with spectacular views. Although the region is rural, our guesthouse features creature comforts like a full kitchen, A/C, and wi-fi. The guesthouse is a separate building located twenty yards behind the main house when you drive up. Guests must walk up a flight of stairs shown in pictures to get to the guesthouse entrance. Once inside, guests will notice the high ceilings, laminate hardwood floors, ample natural light in the main living area and bedroom. In the warm months, ceiling fans and air-conditioning cool the guesthouse. In the winter, the built-in heater keeps the place warm. Plenty of spare blankets and sheets, stored in the guesthouse, help guests stay comfortable. All windows have blinds for shade and privacy. The entire property is fenced and the driveway is gated. The guesthouse sleeps 4 with the brand-new queen-sized mattress in the bedroom and the two hidden twin-sized beds (see pictures) in the living room. The well-stocked kitchen features many new stainless-steel appliances (e.g., oven-range, microwave, toaster, refrigerator-freezer, coffee maker, blender, standmixer), cookware (e.g., pots, pans, knives cutlery), and serving ware (e.g., mugs, glasses, wine glasses, plates, bowls, silverware). We can accommodate up to 2 parked guest vehicles. The space measures a total of 572 sq. ft. perfect for up to 4 adults or a small family, for a cozy weekend getaway or hikers' retreat. We live with two dogs and three cats in the main house. The adopted donkeys and chickens live in the outdoor gated stables, the majority of which have been rescued. All the animals on the property are people-friendly, well-cared for, up to date on all their immunizations, and tended daily. Supervised visits to meet the animals can be arranged. A washer and dryer can be made available, with advance notice. We can also provide a portable crib, baby gate, and high chair, with advance notice. Three Rivers is small vibrant community known as 'the Gateway to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park'. This is a beautiful rural area with trails and views that turn green to golden with the seasons. Travelers come here to visit the Park, enjoy the lake and river, and see the magnificent views. The town itself has several restaurants, two small markets, a coffee shop, a well-known sandwich shop, two hardware stores, and post office. We also share the land with a variety of creatures. As such, caution should be used when encountering the wildlife including deer, bears, coyotes, bobcats, snakes, eagles, mice, etc., Caution should be used to avoid them. We recommend guests have a car to get around because the house is not accessible via public transportation. All roads to and from the guesthouse are paved and the driveway is gravel.
