Woodland Retreat on Mohonk Mountain

Modern mountainside studio nestled in the woods near Mohonk Preserve. Only 1.5 hours from New York City, this cozy space is perfect for nature lovers looking for a place to rest and relax after a day exploring the trails at Mohonk Preserve (5 minute drive) or Minnewaska State Park (15 minute drive). Enjoy the serenity of a wooded location and watch wildlife from your windows; take a dip in our (unheated but lovely) pool. Or head into the lively town of New Paltz, less than 10 minutes drive The space *Queen-sized bed Queen sized sofa bed with mattress topper *Gas grill available for your use *Fire pit (Solo Stove, which minimizes smoke!) *Small kitchenette with Keurig coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave, hot plate and toaster and water cooler for drinking/cooking water. *Wood stove is not working and should not be used **NOTE: there is no kitchen sink or stove in the kitchen, so it's probably not the ideal place to cook every meal perfect for breakfast or even the occasional dinner, especially if you take advantage of the grill outside your door! Guest access Long gravel driveway to location so you will need to take the approach to the house very slowly (5 mph recommended). If coming during the colder months, you will need snow tires to access this location and possibly all-wheel drive, depending on what kind of vehicle you have. Other things to note A split system for air conditioning and heating, making the studio comfortable in all seasons! Thermostat is in studio so that you may adjust the temperature to your comfort level as needed. As the listing states, there is no kitchen stove or kitchen sink in the small kitchenette area. A dish drain is provided in the bathroom but if you prefer not to wash dishes, paper plates are also provided. We have a filter on the shower head that makes our shower run clean and fresh and odor-free. The sink water does have sulfur odor, but we provide a water cooler with filtered water for cooking and drinking. This space is not child-proofed and because of the sleep loft and stairs, best suited for adults without ambulatory issues, children over 12 and non-mobile babies. Pool is shared with main house and there are dogs on property so please enter yard with care and be sure to close all gates behind you. Do not let dogs in pool area. Swim at your own risk. This is a private home with no lifeguards. There is a strict no smoking/vaping policy. You may smoke outside but you must safely extinguish (in water) and dispose of any smoking -related litter. Wood stove is not working and should not be used.
