Essendon Village is a rural Hamlet (no shops) 30 mins from London 10 mins Hatfield Station great country walks, pubs, close to Hatfield House & Hertford or base to explore London. One small dog welcome ( no cats) £10 p/n upon request . The space The barn has been recently converted to provide a cosy open plan living space (approx 90 square feet ) with vaulted ceiling and mezzanine sleeping area which is access via a ladder. The bed is a uk standard double memory foam mattress. If the ladder access is not for you there is a small double sofa bed (available on request). The kitchenette has a 2 ring electric induction hob ( no oven) with over head extractor plus small microwave and accompanying pots and pans , fridge and kettle. There is a small shower room with internal extractor and towels are provided . Please bear in mind the ceiling height of the kitchenette and shower room is restricted, which if you are particularly tall (over 6ft)/large you might want to bear in mind prior to booking. The barn has its own access via gates and is approximately 200ft away from the main house . There is use of garden adjacent with seating , fire pit. Well behaved small dogs are welcome upon request - £10 per night ( one small well behaved dog) payable at booking stage or during stay . Guest access The Barn is located off the B158 which runs through Essendon ( can be busy at times ) and has own off street parking access via manual garage gates (the gates opening is not large enough for very large vehicles like transit vans ) and is within walking distance from bus stop which serve the village and enables access to Hatfield Station , Hertford & Ware . Essendon is a small village without local shops but two pubs . The closest village shop is in Little Berkhamstead ( 2 miles away ) with Supermarkets in Hatfield and Hertford . Hatfield overland station is approximately 10 mins drive ( bus also available ) . Uber / Taxi services also readily available . Other things to note The Barn does not have Wifi due to its rural location but good mobile reception it may not be possible to order some takeaways. Please note the kitchenette and shower room has restricted height and is quite compact. So if you are very tall (over 6ft)/large it may be something you considered prior to booking.
